I forgot they still existed. Deathgrip was a huuuge deal to me back in the day but these guys haven't done anything noteworthy in a long fucking time.

I like how they have no actual announcements or evidence so they just shit on Alex's dumb comments from a 2018 interview that say Atreyu invented metalcore to fill in this article.

Either way, that dude was always the weak link of the band so eh?

Hmm could be interesting to see what happens if there is new music. Wouldn’t be surprised if someone new replaces him.

Perhaps he felt as if he mastered the genre he played a part in inventing and now he is off to pioneer a new form of metal.

If this were 2007 I'd be crying, but the band hasn't put out anything good in over a decade.

Long Live was a good comeback album, though Atreyu has always been pretty safe as far as metalcore goes. And Varkatzas‘ cleans were never that strong anyway.

Surely the article should read Brandon will take over the screams? He already does the clean vocals

They are best known for Bleeding Mascara. They have a few other decent songs too including Right Side of the Bed, You eclipsed by me, my fork in the road etc

Alex also started doing some cleans on Death Grip on Yesterday, and I assume he continued on through their other stuff.

But yeah, the drummer was still the main clean singer as far as I know, but I kinda lost track of them after Death Grip.

was never sure which vocalist was which in this band but now that I know this dude did the screams, I think it pretty much seals that they're going to continue the softer alt-rock sound they started on their last album.

Nothing wrong with a little extra. I packed on some pounds post military when I was working behind a desk. Shit happens. I've since lost it. It's all about limiting carb intake and activity. Hell, I'm 35 and eat like a teenager. 6'1", 175 and I can still run a decent 40 when my knees aren't fucked.

i mean i'm not always slim either, currently 5'10" and 180, but yeah I run a 5k every other day and do simple home workouts in between. the thing is every male drummer i know (female drummers tend to be fine) has not seen a number below 200 on the scale in a decade, although tbf some those motherfuckers are tall

TheNewWhack

Damn, 5k every other day!? My knees would explode like rotten tomatoes. In my experience, drummers are fat to the point you question how they can keep up, or extremely fit. No middle ground. Fuck it, live your best life man.
