Everything Everything Return 2020-05-15 by Tunaboy45 | 9 Comments | British art-pop innovators Everything Everything have announced their new album RE-ANIMATOR, alongside its second single "Arch Enemy" as a follow-up to last month's excellent "In Birdsong".
It wouldn't be Everything Everything without a bonkers concept, and "Arch Enemy" certainly delivers. Of the song, frontman Jonathan Higgs said:
“Arch Enemy” sees a modern-day protagonist searching for a meaningful God. Finding only a congregation of greed, toxicity and waste, in the form of a sentient fatberg in the sewer, he duly prays to it, willing it to purge the decadent world above that has created it. These growing grease mountains are a curious juxtaposition of the modern and the ancient; a brand new example of archaic squalor"
RE-ANIMATOR is out 21st August via Infinity Industries, the band's new imprint on AWAL.

I may be a bit biased because EE are one of my absolute favourite bands, but these new songs are incredible. Especially In Birdsong, holy shit.

I honestly don't know what to expect based off these two songs. Arch Enemy is the most EE of the two but even then it's not exactly a typical song. This is definitely going to be their most synth-heavy album, and I'm loving the heavy modular synths of In Birdsong. I hope they make more appearances.
