crappy days
feels like the song is missing an ending
|
| |
Is this a nostalgia-based concept album?
|
| |
this is like Mark's version of The Middle, shit rules
album in September btw for the article
|
| |
better than blame it on my youth, but that's not really saying much. can we get a generational divide 2 for this one?
|
| |
Quite lame song imo. Lyrics are cringe. I might even like Blame it on my Youth more. Generation Divide is good, but so short and slight.
So far, this album seems like California part 2, but worse — and it’s not like I love California. I have it as a 3. But this is worse so far. Hope the rest is better.

Well, I guess this is a reason I can to my list of reasons I should kill myself...
|
| |
pretty forgettable
|
| |
I miss happy days when I was excited by new Blink
|
| |
"Well, I guess this is a reason I can to my list of reasons I should kill myself..."
damn bro that's a pretty hard own. u should tweet that to Mark so he knows how hard u owned him
|
| |
Eh, it's alright.
|
| |
this is alright ig but hasn’t really grabbed me much
song needs more matt
|
| |
This was better than "Blame It On My Youth", but not as cool as "Generational Divide". So, it was alright I guess.
|
| |
the real question is how did this band ever write catchy and even emotional songs at all? And how come they can't do it anymore?
|
| |
"the real question is how did this band ever write catchy and even emotional songs at all? And how come they can't do it anymore?"
I'm guessing cos of Tom?
But Matt Skiba has written amazingly catchy stuff for Alkaline Trio, especially their latest album last year
|
| |
I forgot the song was playing 30 seconds in
|
| |
tbh I don’t know how you can still be a dedicated fan of this band in 2019
|
| |
Great blend of S/T and California.
|
| |
“I forgot the song was playing 30 seconds in”
Honestly had the same response lol.
|
| |
nope
|
| |
Band needs more Tom Delonge.
|
| |
the song sounds like someone trying to rewrite "Stay Together for the Kids" and "Adam's Song" but they forgot how they went
|

Hard disagree. Those are two of my favorite blink songs and I basically hate this. Just doesn’t sound like those songs imho.
|
| |
well yeah......cause it sucks
|
| |
"Band needs more Tom Delonge."
yea would be tight to have Tom back so he can keep delaying the band with his petty flakey bullshit making them push an album back three years in a row and when it comes out it sounds like AVA and +44 EPs awkwardly welded together.... again. definitely miss those days!
|
| |
Funny coming from the band whose best song is called Dammit
|
| |
it's ok, but yeah this will definitely be Cali pt 2. also fuck you blink for releasing an album AFTER summer
|
| |
"yea would be tight to have Tom back so he can keep delaying the band with his petty flakey bullshit making them push an album back three years in a row and when it comes out it sounds like AVA and +44 EPs awkwardly welded together.... again. definitely miss those days!"
Even with all the delays, that 'awkward mix' is miles ahead of the material they've been releasing since. Neighborboods and Dogs Eating Dogs are great
|
| |
Dogs Eating Dogs is some of their best work imo. Got completely overlooked.
|
| |
This song has a great riff btw, really makes it stand out from all the songs on California with the exact same riff
|
| |
You know what, I don't hate this. It's not great by any stretch, but compared to the rest of Blink's output recently this is definitely a song.
|
| |
honestly my problem here is mostly just that matts vocals are barely here at all (assuming that’s him in the background)
|
| |
"When I Was Young" is a pretty good song but I'm not sure about the rest of that EP though dude.
|
| |
The only subpar song on it is Boxing Day, and even that’s pretty good. All the other songs are awesome and some of their best work. Come on man — you’re gonna tell me Disaster and Dogs Eating Dogs aren’t good?
To each their own though. I love it personally.
|
| |
Disaster is a mess, could have been good if it wasn't just an intro awkwardly welded onto a totally different song. And Boxing Day is one of the worst blink songs overall, absolute trash
but yeah, When I Was Young and Dogs Eating Dogs are tunes
|
| |
IS IT BETTER... IS IT BETTER NOW
ARE WE BETTER.... ARE WE BETTER NOW
|
| |
"yea would be tight to have Tom back so he can keep delaying the band with his petty flakey bullshit making them push an album back three years in a row and when it comes out it sounds like AVA and +44 EPs awkwardly welded together.... again. definitely miss those days!"
Lmao, If we've learned something about blink without Tom is that Tom was the best songwriter in the band, and it's quite obvious that Matt Skiba has zero imput on the music itself. They've basically been plagiarizing themselves since he got kicked out, at least with him they tried new, more mature stuff. Without him they do atrocities like California and fucking Blame It On My Youth lol, all while ripping off every single song they've made in the past.
|
| |
All the betas at chorus.fm will talk about how good this song is
|
| |
"If we've learned something about blink without Tom is that Tom was the best songwriter in the band, and it's quite obvious that Matt Skiba has zero imput on the music itself." [2] Agreed.
(And I kinda like this song, just because it's nostalgic af)
