Why can they not release a listenable album for once. I would love this if it wasn‘t so painful to listen to.
| |
they're taking the Loudness War and making it their aesthetic. Bold move, but too bad it's not a good one.
| |
I find it it so weird, when I saw them live their sound was perfectly clear and really nice to listen to.
| |
I remember when Chlorine & Wine first came out there was someone on their Facebook page saying there was a ton of clipping and distortion, and the band's page actually responded just straight up telling them they were wrong. At least Yellow & Green sounds amazing, I love the band as a whole but their production aesthetic is confusing to say the least.

| |
So much fuzz.
STOP.
| |
I like fuzz.
| |
This ain't supposed to be shoegaze
| |
Bet.
| |
gesundheit
| |
This is actually unlistenable WTF
| |
I wouldn't as far as saying its unlistenable, but they do really need to clean it up and fill in the space that the fuzz is trying to fill. Clipping on the drums is just stupid.
| |
Wow this is pretty saturated lol. Song is good though.
| |
Sounded fine...
On my phones speakers
| |
Song itself is great as usual. Production is awful as usual too. I really don't get who's been counseling them for these coulpe past albums, but it should be considered a crime to ruin otherwise great albums like that.
| |
Don't judge a mix/master off of a youtube upload. I mean yeah it'll probably still sound like shit based on their track record, but youtube compresses the living shit out of your files and you won't get any frequencies above about 16 khz.
| |
Lmao imagine working on an album for years, you compose it, you arrange it, you write the lyrics, then you go to the studio and you record it, and it sounds like this, and you're like "ye boi I'm satisfied with how it sounds, glad to hear that my hard work paid off, can't wait for this duderino to be on the market".
| |
^+1, and what baffles me even more is that apparently they WANT it to sound like this. Live they sound great, so why ruin the studio albums on purpose when that's how most people are gonna experience their music?
| |
As I said before, I think it has become some sort of inside joke for them, like a meme... "Let's see how far we can push it before people start losing their shit".
And this is particularly annoying because there are some pretty legit experimentations on this record, like the blast beat in Seasons or the frippertronic-like sound layers on this song, but damn... This garbage is unlistenable.
| |
i’ve never seen youtube and facebook comments be so overwhelmingly negative, and for good reason. youtube makes this song sound worse but as everyone said it just sounds awful
| |
great songs, terrible production [1000]
| |
great song
haters will say the production is badbad, but i say, you are badbad so frick you okay?
| |
Jesus christ what is this mix?
| |
That fucking drum tone. Dear lord.
| |
Lovely album art, and I always dig the garage sound but this is just bad
| |
I like how at the end of the song they go for this dramatic clipped fade out effect, but it's like, no we just listened to that for the past four minutes
| |
I kinda regret pre-ordering this album now...
| |
just frame it and hang it on your wall
| |
Throw the record away, just keep the case so you don't put unnecessary stress on your drywall
| |
I ordered TWO copies. Fml
| |
Drums sound like excrement, why are they mixing it like this on purpose????
| |
https://youtu.be/A_IDGrKZ0Rs
| |
oof. something is out of place here.
| |
Fuck it I'm still excited for the album, things are looking grim but maaaaaybe it'll sound passable at 320kbps?
| |
call me when they get to the poop brown album
| |
Whoever involved with this album thought that producing an album that sounds like every instrument is clipping, was in any way a good idea? Please shoot that guy. Not even gonna start with the mix
| |
“call me when they get to the poop brown album”
lmao
