It’s like the vocalist took cues from Claudio Sanchez’s vox delivery/style from the Second Stage Turbine Blade era

I saw them live yesterday in NJ. Needless to say, they played most of the new disc and completely forgot they released two records before. Record seems fine but there's not much on the level of their best singles imho on a first listen

I guess that happened because they changed the drummer again... it should be really hard to make new songs and learn old songs like "Blood on the Radio" or "Feed the Horses"

Their new drummer is a machine, honestly the touch he has is butter melting, and double pedals like a god. I don't think complexity is the issue here

I think they did 2 "b-sides" off of Maps of non-Existent Places, or anyway I didn't absolutely remember them, the whole new disc, an impro and My Famed Disappearing Act as a closing. I was so bummed and my friends were dead by the end of the gig. 2hr of unknown prog, the crowd was dead by then, loads of people left. Just a really stupid setlist choice imho

Interesting, I think he's one of the things that makes the band for me. I'm a sucker for higher-pitched vocalists with an ear for poppy melodies and he nails it.
