I can see 80% of the site hating this but Oomori Seiko is never anything less than the real fucking deal despite having possibly the worst voice of any major label pop artist in 2019

Kusokawa Party was awesome, and this would have fit nicely on that record. Really enjoy this song and the direction she's heading. Hopefully another new full record soon!
@Johnny "worst voice"? How dare you, sir.

"having possibly the worst voice of any major label pop artist in 2019"
And this is why I never liked her, I'd probably like this track if she wasn't on it.

voice just takes a bit of getting used to. some pretty immediate songs on the new album that should easily get you past any hang-ups.
btw VOID is originally from one of the alternate tracklistings of the new album (specifically the CD/DVD edition)

her voice is great lol what
|
| |
I mean I love her vocals and none of the music would be the same without them, but as a singer she's not great. Testament to her songwriting and performance that this isn't much of an issue

Also didn't know that re. alternative edition, I guess that makes it a bonus track?
|
| |
dont know if i'd say that. each edition of the album has a different tracklist with some songs that arent on the other editions. and the different tracks arent just shoved onto the end of the album like yr typical bonus tracks; they're woven into the middle of the album. so who's to say which is the definitive, official version of the album, and which songs are the "bonus tracks"? obviously seiko is, but i dont read japanese, so i dunno if she ever said anything on it.
but for simplicity's sake i just consider the cd-only version to be the "truest" representation of the album, cuz cd-only is generally the format you look at first when you're wonderin bout that. also its the same as the version on streaming services.

Ah fair fair, I guess she wanted to give this one a little extra attention by putting it on the single and making a music vid then. She doesn't strike me as the kind of artist who'd be particularly obsessive about sequencing and definitive editions of albums tbh

probably not. i reckon avex is just tryna get ppl to buy multiple editions of the same release, like so many japanese major labels do with so many idol groups.
|
| |
Avex are assholes so it's most likely just making multiple editions to milk money.
|
| |
getting some more saccharine Jeff Rosenstock vibes lol
