also, to reiterate Atomic's post up there: ghost promotions are still absolutely possible going forward, even if this cycle didn't work out for some of y'all. a good number of candidates are excellent writers who were turned down mainly due to a) a smaller review output compared to other candidates or b) concerns about site citizenship. both of those issues are imo much, much easier to rectify than quality of writing, and fairly easy to demonstrate changes in to boot.
