pretty decent song. seems like Grohl continue to scream like phuck.
|
| |
@Slave To the parasites:
I so agree..!! :-)
|
| |
The song is better than the whole In Your Honor album.
The way the song switches rhythms, starts out slow, Grohl screams...its a great song. Feels a lot like The Colour and the Shape.
Which is good. They sounded too boring and like everything else with In Your Honor and One by One.

With the exception of Best of You*.
btw, the quiet parts sound a bit like P!ATD - I Write Sins...

really really good song
|
| |
OBO I can see your point, Times Like These and All My Life are the two best songs, and Grohl even said it in an interview it was a bad album because it was rushed.
IYH however, I think was a good solid rock album, not their best, but the rock side is straightforward rock. The album would be better if you took the best songs from both discs and put it onto one.
|
| |
I like.. :D
|
| |
With the exception of Best of You?
Are you kidding me?
IS SOMEONE GETTING THE BEST OF YOU?
That is like the only lyric line in that damn song.
Maybe its 'heartfelt' but I despise that song.
|
| |
Whoa, Whoa... Fair enough dude, haha.
|
| |
Sorry man...that is the Foo song I despise.
|
| |
even as a longtime fan, i still think Best of You is one of their best. he didnt do it with a riff, he did it with his emotion, it is heartfelt. maybe youre all about aesthetics but I disagree. As for IYH, I like the rock disc's straight forward approach, the best songs being the first 4 and the very last, and thats it. Anyway, id put The Pretender in the FF top 10.This Message Edited On 08.03.07

Best Of You is the Foo's best song, and out of all the songs I've heard on the radio and TV, I hav heard very few mainstream songs that have blown me away first time quite like that one.
And IYH was decent but I keep slipping between loving it and hating it.
|
| |
i couldnt stand IYH, just wasnt up to par like other FF albums. i heard this single on the radio yesterday and it wasnt bad, wasnt amazing but it kept my attention

I loved the acoustic disc of in your honor. the rock disc was standard and generic.
|
| |
The rock disc was very straightforward, which is one reason why I like it. You can tell they kinda rushed through it just because they were so eager to concentrate on the newer acoustic stuff but when it rocks it rocks, its that simple. The rock disc brings more emotion than anything else.
The Pretender however, shows that they've spent more time on musical aesthetics as well. They took the emotion from IYH and put more musical aspects to it, which is what ESPG will be I think. They'll be jamming and doing instrumentals now, which is the opposite of the IYH rock disc. Still, The Pretender does not beat Best of You or DOA.
