Bridgers + Oberst album drops

2019-01-24 by A.R.O. STAFF | 20 Comments
Acclaimed folk musicians Phoebe Bridgers and Conor Oberst, who teamed up on the former's debut album track "Would You Rather," hinted last year that they would be teaming up for some new music.

This Wednesday that album, titled Better Oblivion Community Center and released under the same moniker, dropped sooner than expected on streaming services everywhere, with the physical edition to be out February 22nd.

Seriously loving this so far. Four tracks in. Feels like Aaron West plus a hint of early Bon Iver

1st listen was mediocre, I felt a tad disappointed with the lack of instances where Bridgers took the lead (everything seemed to blend into a bunch of samey duets) and it felt a lot like an Oberst album ft. her as opposed to a 50/50 effort.

2nd listen is way more promising, the songs are starting to distinguish themselves and the melodies are digging their hooks deep. Yeah, I definitely think this is gonna end up being a great album.

This is incredible and I have already listened to it over 8 times through today. These guys are a math made in heaven. Both of their past albums have been good, but lacking. Together they add a nice contrast and harmonize great.

2nd time through and my initial highlights aren't hitting as much and the songs I shrugged off at first are digging in
Thought Phoebe wss pretty prominent on this Sowing, bit surprised by that take. Then again I'm not familiar with his solo work

Yeah loving pretty much everything here now, love how different her voice sounds on here sometimes, feel like she's just continuing to expand her sound and voice before her next solo
speaking of.... can we still hope for a 2019 release for that?
