De Staat release Kitty Kitty

2018-10-20 by Trifolium | 8 Comments
Dutch rockers De Staat release the video for first single "Kitty Kitty" off their upcoming album, Bubblegum.

The track features lyrics taken from the Trump campaign and is unmistakably De Staat, with its gnarly synth guitar, pounding rhythm and preacher like vocal delivery. The video also draws parallels to the US elections, with a red vs. blue stand off created by multiplying the band and setting them off against each other.

I would have loved a big chorus somewhere in this, but that was a really great experience. One of the better videos I've ever seen.

The video is something else, agreed. Such a clear commentary on the current state of things, but completely viable as a stand alone visual if you by some inexplicable way don't get what it's about.

:-(
Why though? It's got a nice build up and some wicked cynicism.

oh what a song, man. one of the more creative sides of redundant Trump-bashing.

the instrumental bridge is just impeccable

Yeah the bridge rules. I like it more with each listen.
