Seems I snooped in before the price was increased :3

I'm hyped! Gonna see them in November! I saw they moved the second part from 2019 to 2020 -_- oh well
| |
I seen them as support for opeth, they killed it.
| |
Really damn good
| |
As long as this release is enough to stand alone on its own I’m fine waiting till 2020.
Lol at including “finally” in the opening sentence. Same bro same
| |
5 years was too much haha. I thought they were gonna release both albums, but they are still recording the second part
| |
Not too shabby at all. I wonder how close the rest of the record sounds to this.
| |
yep it has some nice vocal lines
kinda miss the denseness of crushing riffs tho
| |
Dope song, can’t fuckin wait for this
| |
dude that was hype fuck yeah
| |
im surprised they keep coming up with albums in this kinda concept. rad as fuck. i gotta refresh myself on their discog for this
| |
Hopefully they'll have that heaviness on some of the other songs Flug
| |
Damn this is sick, looking forward to catching them at Damnation Festival
| |
about time, that was really good
| |
Album title is stupid
| |
my gawd this took too long
| |
I was hoping to see them during Summer Slaughter Festival several years back, but the drummer got gout and couldn't perform that night.
At least we're finally getting new music!
| |
I'm 2/3 in the song and it feels like there's too much singing the whole time and not a lot of progression, hoping for some epic climax
edit: eh it was ok. still hyped for the album
| |
As much as I try to like their newer material, yeah the vocalist they have now just has never quite been as good as the other two they used to have. And the heaviness oh how I miss it. At least on Pelagial a bit of that returned but his vocals were still bleh
| |
Where does it come from? And how was it MAAAAAADE?!
| |
Gonna miss their old drummer, he was amazing, but the new one seems to be fitting in just fine.
| |
yeah Luc had great creative feel on songs like The Origin of Species and Let Them Believe, but Seidel's going to fit just fine.
| |
Paul is an amazing drummer . His work with WFAHM was exceptional , too.
| |
Nothing since Precambrian has really clicked for me with these guys, vocals just sound too buttrocky. But I did enjoy this and the cleans didn’t get into that territory much so I’ll give this a shot.
| |
This was really underwhelming... I am really disappointed, especially after Robin told me they would go for a Precambrian sound on the new one. Then again that was 3 years ago.
| |
Hmmm, quite alright, but is the static in the final seconds intentional?
| |
im sure its intentional
| |
Yeah think so too. Does not affect the vocals so it almost has to be. Weird choice, not sure how I feel about that.
| |
lol its just a few seconds and its pretty normal to have a sound decay effect in this type of music
| |
Ha, definitely true, I'm nitpicking! It starts earlier though, at 8.55, does not fit the song imo
| |
ok then
| |
fluggy!
| |
Dang dudes, I quite enjoyed this one. Already stuck in my head.
I imagine the rest of the album will have more variety, this is just one of their more post-metal-leaning tracks.
| |
does anyone notice a squeaking sound around the middle section? at like 5:30. kinda annoying when you notice it
| |
plebbo!
| |
@teolaiho thats a slide
| |
@flugmorph I don't think so. Listen carefully, you can hear it around the tree minute mark as well. Sounds like it's coming from the bass drum pedal or something, I've heard a similar creak from mine
| |
it isn't as audible when the vocals come in, but I can still hear it with my studio monitors
| |
cant hear a thing
| |
well yeah it's really quiet haha. it's a very high frequency sound. guess I'm just really picky about stuff like that
| |
i cant hear high frequencies anyway rip
| |
Still flapping those wings man?
| |
Hear it too teolaiho, reminds me of pushing in a click pen in a way. Haha!
Dig the song though! It's good! Def hear Precambrian vibes in it.
| |
sure thing fam
| |
@teolaiho not sure what is that but yea it totally sounds like a squeaky pedal, it follows the kick pattern
| |
this keeps getting better with each listen
| |
it's alright but not much more than that, like pretty much everything else they've been doing for a while
| |
song's a grower. odd choice for a single, but in a good way.
| |
aren't they called the ocean collective again or no?
| |
their social media is called The Ocean Collective so it can actually be searched, but I don't think they've formally reverted to that name
| |
The outro is swish
| |
it says the ocean collective on the album cover
| |
the cleans are hit or miss for me but i'm hyped as fuck
| |
I'll always love his cleans, so genuine.
This keeps getting better and better. Though I do find it odd that their first single is the album closer. It certainly feels like one.
| |
"it says the ocean collective on the album cover"
well play me like a fiddle, so it does.
| |
Geological time scale periods can be very m/ - Archean Hadean Silurian Devonian Pennsylvanian
| |
Half of the band changed since Pelagial, so Collective makes sense again.
| |
good old collective days
| |
mhh track sounds like they are combining elements from Peliagial and Precambrian = recipe for success.
His cleans rule no doubt
| |
Damn this is really good. Super hyped for the new album after listening to that.
| |
The clean singing guy has a very daddyish voice, but it's grown on me
IT'S A FUCKING CONTINUATION OF PRECAMBRIAN OMG
how am I finding out about this only now? daaamn. gonna be lit as fuk
