I like that cover but I find they meander too much to the point that it ruins their songs.

I struggled to "get" this band for a really long time... I can remember when MPP came out and everyone was hyping it like crazy. I must have listened to that album four or five times that year, expecting it to click, and it just never did... I came to the conclusion that no one *actually* liked this band, and just pretended to be into them to enhance their hipster posturing.
And then one time I was doing a solo hike in forest, on a very, very hot day, and randomly decided to put on Strawberry Jam. Every note somehow made perfect sense to me. Listened to Feels and Sung Tongs next, and those were even better. I still am not a huge fan of MPP as an album, but a few of those songs are crazy good. Feel the same about Centipede and Painting With, but crazy good has downgraded to "alright." From that summer, I mostly remember listening to AnCo and Chevelle. How the fuck those two fit together in my mood, I have no idea.
Excited for this.

i will defend Centipede Hz until it hz (i wonder, as with flylo's you're dead and swans' to be kind, whether part of the problem is that it first came to our attention in poor quality?) as near-genius but i struggle with Painting With. no denying their critical cache has plummeted though.
