Meh.
| |
nice
| |
That was good
| |
Good enough song, they're so far along in their career now to expect much more is unfair. I hope there are at least a few stunners on the new album though.
| |
Starting of the song and I thought it was Sick Sick Sick by QOTSA
| |
I dig
| |
They're still fairly creative, I don't think their longevity has really taken much steam away from them. They're still better and more interesting than the majority of younger hard rock bands in my opinion.
| |
God, this band is such a bore nowadays..
| |
Cantrell’s riffs are the definition of ‘simple but effective’.
Solid track.
| |
that did not sound like an AIC song. Excited for a new album regardless. Band rules.
| |
yea it is amazing how cantrell can make the simplest riff boss as shit.
| |
Vocals have been kind of a snooze fest since layne died, but musically they haven't dropped off.
| |
Not bad
| |
Not bad. I'm still surprised how strong they are without Layne.
| |
Pretty sweet.
| |
I mean it's pretty formulaic, but they don't really know how to write a bad song. The chorus is catchy af and I'm glad cause I found them to be pretty weak on TDPDH.
| |
Dig it
| |
meh
| |
Another uninnovative song. Without Layne they don’t know what to do outside of being in their comfort zone. Doesn’t change the fact that they just can’t make a bad song.
| |
Wellllll
Was hoping for a bit more.
| |
That was less than I was expecting.
| |
I mean it's the lead single guys. I remember everyone saying the exact same shit about Stone and Hollow. This will probably end up being one of the weaker tracks on the album. And I still fuckin dig this.
| |
Solid track
| |
Pretty average based on a couple of listens, hopefully it grows
| |
As for the musical direction of the new ALICE IN CHAINS material, Cantrell said: "It's a record we haven't done yet, I can tell you that. But it's also a record that has all the elements of anything you would expect from us."
Could not make a more clichéd statement about the new album
| |
Alice in Chains 2.0 are LAME
| |
^^^ nope
And the band is just called Alice In Chains
| |
Dont know what youre talking about
| |
Solid single, Cantrell still has it.
| |
This is pretty good. Nothing groundbreaking, but solid overall. Nice vocal interplay between Jerry and William.
| |
not feeling it fam
| |
Not feelin' it either
| |
I can't wait for this album's version of 'A Looking In View' or 'Phantom Limb', those longer tracks are boss.
| |
yikers
| |
Layne clearly wasn't the most important member of the band. Ignorant comment
| |
meh not really a big fan of fallace in chains
| |
Cantrell wrote and arranged almost all of their material and Layne wrote a handful of songs in their entire catalog, so it kind of sounds to me like you're the one who doesn't know what they're talking about. No one is taking anything away from his vocal abilities, but to say that he was the entire band is fucking stupid and wrong.
| |
^^^ this exactly. Layne is literally my favorite vocalist of all time. Jerry wrote nearly all of their material then and writes all of it now. Layne was the face but it's abundantly clear who the brains of the band is.
| |
As much as I love AIC... This is the first time I've ever been disappointed by one of their singles. It put me to sleep tbh
| |
really enjoying this
| |
Aiwaz is somewhat right. Layne was the best vocalist of his era. It’s true that Jerry is a brain of the band, he had the right to continue making music under the band’s name. But without Layne it’s just not as good as it was. Either it’s cause of DuVall’s limited vocal abillities that he seems to re-use over and over because he’s too afraid to step out of his comfort zone, or simply Jerry is running out of ideas. Everything about this song is the same as it was on their last 2 albums, just the same boring formula with the same snoozing vocals. Band is good, I can be sure that whenever they put out a new album it will not be bad, they have always been consistently good either wih Layne or without him. But I can’t imagine them now making a song like „Rotten Apple”, „I Stay Away” or literally any iconic song that they’ve made in the past. Layne was just something more. And he is irreplaceable.
| |
See I just don't agree with that. Sure, they were definitely at their best with Layne, but songs like Private Hell, Acid Bubble, Choke, and both t/t from these new albums are every bit as good as their best songs.
| |
I wouldn’t go that far...but they’re pretty good for sure
| |
Didn't enjoy it as much as a looking in view or hollow and that breaks my heart because I love AIC
| |
Not a bad song at all. I liked the sludgier, riffier direction of the last two records, but I'm open to them trying something different. Still sounds like AiC.
| |
Aiwaz left because he got dominated. Good work at combatting trolls everyone.
| |
Don’t talk shit about my boi Aiwaz
| |
haha. I miss him already.
| |
YOURE ALL WRONG
SEAN IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MEMBER
| |
"Layne was not only the band but the best vocalist of that era and no one can hold a candle to him. The amount of passion he had is rare. For you to say such a thing either means you are lacking knowledge about the band and Layne's role in it as a whole or are talking trash. I'm leaning toward the former."
LMAO! Aiwaz best user 2018.
| |
Same ol' AIC. It's good enough for some long time fans, but I hope the new album is more "Jar of Flies" than "The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here".
