Dang I didn't know synthwave artists were earning enough bank to afford making music videos

Gunship has some great videos.

dan tompkins is probably an exception when it comes to budgets, but what would i know
edit: i think i'm letting my disappointment for tesseract bleed into places where it shouldn't really be

Someone mention Tesseyawn?

HOW DARE YOU, ROB!
|
| |
Couldn't help myself, how are you my old friend?
|
| |
Not too bad! For some reason, way more active on Sput than I've been in years. Congratulations on being a contrib...again. :]

ya u r man

Good record too, should relisten. Love the mixing.
|

Unemployment will do that to ya.
I like the album but somehow I just don't feel Tompkins' vocals on it all that much. Maybe it's overexposure.

I did get some fatigue after listening to lots of Tesseract a few years ago at the same time I was first discovering Skyhabor, at the same time I was listening to Black Moth White Butterfly. Haha. I don't mind him on this actually. I think he fits it perfectly. But we have heard a lot of him lately.

His voice is too...warm...for synthwave? I mean, the vocals on most of the synthwave stuff I like is a little more detached and cold than his vocals generally are. Even with all the layering he does with his vocals it's still very warm and immediate.

I totally get where you're coming from, Dan is prone to embellishments (works better on some albums than others)

Apparently ze gods have heard my prayers. They also just put out an instrumental version of the album.
