Fall Out Boy delay new album

2017-08-03 by judasgoat | 32 Comments
Fall Out Boy appear to have pushed back the release date of their new album, according to frontman Patrick Stump.

M A N I A will now see release on January 19th, 2018, as Stump revealed in a Twitter post. As opposed to reasons such as "studio explosion" or "aliens stealing the master tapes," Stump explains that the band just felt the album was rushed, and "really isn't ready," so they need more time to "properly and carefully record solid performances."

However, the tour behind the album is still on, and scheduled to begin in Cleveland, Ohio on October 20th.

I guess I can appreciate them trying to make it a better album, but I still don't have high hopes for the result.

Agree @Aerisavion. I have been supremely disappointed by them ever since the hiatus ended. I really dug them before, but I've liked very little of their output in the past few years.

They have always been a shitty band, they took the worst elements of blink 182 and 00s weezer. Besides the voice of patrick stump has always been a pain in the fuckin ass

their first four albums are good but dont hold much replay value for me anymore. everything after and including sr&r is terrible and (if the new singles are any indication) have gotten gradually worse

Infinity and Folie are excellent, but Panic have always been better than these guys.

Damn whatever happened to these guys? From Under the Cork Tree and Take This to Your Grave were the soundtracks to my childhood. Along with Bowling for Soup and The All American Rejects of all bands, those three reigned supreme to 9 year old me.
