Video is hella cheesy but the last minute of this song is the best thing they've done in years

Does it suck the biggest of booty cheeks like their usual recent material?

There is nothing outright BAD about this. It's just really boring and uninspired sounding.

I expected this to suck, but I'm surprised. This is a step in the right direction for them. The drumming is on point.

Song has my attention.
The last minute has Matt screaming better than he has in years.
Shogun-esque solos and tunings are a plus. Could they finally be making Shogun 2?
I like this drummer, keep him ffs

The screaming is basically all it took to make this the best thing they've done in a while.

Really good drumming though

Pretty good song, not revolutionary but a good modern metal song I'd say.

Usually I love Matt clean vocals but they too boring on this track . Loved the growls and the last min . Drummer sounds good . Didn't know they found a replacement but based on the latest 2 drummers they might fire him soon :-)

This is a huge improvement over their previous album. Cool that they're getting the growls back in there as well. Looking forward to this new album.

Well the drummer was originally from Battlecross so it's likely he'll fit in just nicely.

Kind of sounds like what I imagine All that Remains was going for when they went all clean vocals but kept missing

Average song, but if including these lame ass blast beats was the "black metal" influence they were speaking about I'm pretty disappointed.

I can't stand this guy's cleans. Why does the singing have to be over the top? Sounds like a watered down version or either KSE or old All That Remains. Generic early 2000s metal.

They've been using blast beats in their music since at least 'In Waves'. I am not sure what they mean by "black metal" influences, but they surely mean something other than blast beats as that's not at all new for Trivium.

Black metal Trivium lol. 100% guaranteed that is Matt Heafy saying anything he can to try to hype the record and make it sound interesting.

It's a step in the right direction. Worst part is the 80s riffing in the first and second verse

swipenet
August 3rd 2017

Yeah, I feel like the verses could've been spiced up riff-wise, but the chorus, solo section, ending, and drumming are solid.
