Neun Welten Dive In 2017-05-25 by bnelso55 | 7 Comments | Neun Welten, the German collective regarded for their dark folk forays, will release their third album "The Sea I'm Diving" on July 21, 2017 via Prophecy Productions.
The 11-song record, recorded by film composer Matthias Raue, features their first assemblage of new material since 2009’s Destrunken as well as several new additions to the band’s sonic palette, including English lyrics centered on marine themes and post rock-inspired electric guitars. Press releases from the band and record label promise a neofolk/post rock blend of cinematic storytelling with a film score focus.

Hmm.. honestly I wasn't overly impressed by this. Not bad, but was kinda hoping for something more. The vocals are passable, but I'm hoping they grow on me. It kinda has a more Tenhi-esque feel to it than their older, more woodsy neo-folk sound. I enjoyed their previous album Destrunken, so I'm still going to give this new one a listen when it comes out.
