Stetson and Fox (re)join forces 2017-05-05 by JJKeys | 7 Comments | Colin Stetson's 2016 breathtaking album, Sorrow - a re-imagining of Gorecki's 3rd Symphony, featured none other than Greg Fox on drums, whose work is most notably that of the transcendental black metal group Liturgy. The two have since formed the group Ex Eye, combining Stetson's gritty, avant-garde approach to jazz with Fox's mathematical precision of black metal; thy are also joined by Shahzad Ismaily (Secret Chiefs 3, Ceramic Dog) on synths and Toby Summerfield on guitar.
On May 3rd, the group revealed 'Opposition/Perihelion; The Coil', and announced their self-titled debut album due for a June 23rd release. The album was apparently recorded entirely live at Ismaily's Figure 8 studios, Brooklyn, NY.
