Since I embedded the video, I added the tour and pre-order info from the original link into the article. Hope you don't mind the edit, Callaway.
Song is better than their first one but my expectations for this record are still woefully low.
| |
Oh this album is gonna be goooooooood
| |
Meh.
| |
Song is decent, might get better after a few listens. Video is lame.
| |
Fuck I really like the direction they've gone. Sputnik will hate the new album, everybody else will love it.
| |
It's funny, thats for sure, but don't slays.
| |
Sorry FlagAsh the band has pop punk in their tags thus it is impossible for their album to be good.
| |
I resent that notion!
| |
This is not pop punk anymore, which is why I like it
| |
Awesome, this is how you should do a pop rock song. Take notes Sell Out Boy.
| |
beat me to it dammit
anyways songs good
| |
song is not that bad, still lacking however
| |
wait this actually isn't half bad wtf
| |
ok this is probs their best song ever
| |
it is half bad, the bad half is the vocal effects on hayley's, and a few misplaced influences, but the latter half is better
| |
Are these ironic positive comments or
| |
Ok, I really dig this. Fight me.
| |
I'll fight you.
Hayley is still a cutie though.
| |
yeah that vocal manipulation at the start was bad but the rest was actually dece
| |
legit, this ain't s/t-level bad, not having high hopes for the album but it might not be a complete disaster
| |
fine I'll re-listen to this
ya'll have me doubting my first impression
| |
of course it's not going to be as good as their first three albums, in fact it ain't even good, it's just not that bad
| |
prob not going to listen to this again but yeah the positive comments were legit
| |
im actually looking forward to a paramore album now wtf i feel 13 again
| |
I thought their S/T had its moments
'Into You' is a jam
| |
"im actually looking forward to a paramore album now wtf i feel 13 again"
yea but ur like 16 calm down
| |
better than hard times but it's still stupid and dumb
| |
everytime this site talks about paramore i die a little inside
| |
yea but ur like a shit user so
| |
lyrics sound really forced into the song and the pitch shifting isn't really necessary but I guess its aight
| |
Katy Pery + Foals
| |
Katy Perry + Foals [2], but a more boring katy perry
| |
"of course it's not going to be as good as their first three albums"
Hahahahahaha
| |
this sounds so bland, i can hear this same type of 80's influenced shit from so many other artists
hayley's voice just isn't best suited for this type of thing...
| |
i mean, i guess that's what they want but at least they could make the 80's stuff interesting but they can't
| |
at least s/t sorta felt like a logical progression.. i have no problem with them going full pop, but it didn't have to sound like this
| |
Better than the last song, but still mediocre.
| |
not bad
| |
I dig it, Hayley sounds great, the bass was extremely catchy and the guitar was fun. Thank god for no rock bottom this time around
| |
"Fuck I really like the direction they've gone. Sputnik will hate the new album, everybody else will love it."
Dude, I totally agree with you. It may not be much of the punk-influenced stuff of their early work, but their pop material is equally as catchy and fun to listen to. I actually liked the self-titled a lot, and if this is going down that same road, I'm quite excited. Hey, at least they've transitioned to pop rock better than the current audio turds that Fall Out Boy are shitting out in their take on the style
| |
I'm probably the only one here that likes the new FOB single. Oh well. Anyway I'd definitely take a repeat of Paramore's s/t, had some really tight pop songs. My wife and I actually played an orchestral/instrumental version of 'Into You' at our wedding ceremony. Regardless of style, Paramore is always fun.
| |
new wave Paramore, this should probably just be filed as Haley Williams
| |
they're definitely not the worst to transition from their better years, but paramore was always more consistent than their peers
| |
So it's settled, this is the new-wave paramore album. I think I can dig it
| |
I'm liking the sound that they're going for with this new album. Doesn't top their older stuff, but I think I'll like it better overall than their self-titled which I thought was okay.
| |
Pretty fun track, but the pitch shifting isn't really necessary [2].
| |
this is kinda fun wow
| |
This is definitely a grower, I like it.
| |
lmao sucks
| |
i'll show you lmao sucks
| |
Yep i totally cant wait for new album now. This gonna be better than last one for sure
| |
i like that they announced the album close to release date. refreshing to not have to wait months for it
| |
The last one had a better hook but this was good
| |
'Sputnik will hate the new album, everybody else will love it.'
sigh
| |
Song is alright, needed a stronger hook or some kind of climax/solo that wasn't just repeating the chorus motif.
| |
I like it a lot, really excited for the new album now :D
| |
Very much not a fan of these kind of new article titles
Also cumming really
| |
song is solid imo
| |
Gotta say I'm getting hyped for this album
| |
I liked this more than the first single
still not very confident in the new album, this really is an odd direction for them to be going in imo.
| |
Not terrible. Not going to make anyone forget Josh, though.
| |
Pretty damn forgettable.
| |
video is lame but new-wave paramore definitely has my interest so far. agreed that hayley's voice sounds kinda out of place with these kinda songs but im sure it'll grow on me
| |
are you guys doing okay it looks like you were actually saying good things about a paramore song
| |
Song really is surprisingly good, still love the Talking Heads influence and worship
| |
oh it's so good!!! this band can do no wrong
| |
the repeats "I told you so" so, so many times and none of those iterations are cute. Hella boring song for Paramore.
| |
I love this, tbfh.
| |
last one was much better
| |
Sweet Elizabeth Holmes cosplay, Hayley.
| |
lol
| |
Band should probably retire.
| |
better than the first single, who knows though, maybe they'll pull a Jimmy Eat World on us and the rest of the album will be made up of songs closer to their older material
| |
This is a really interesting direction for them to go in, rather than rehashing a load of generic pop tropes they've thrown a lot of different stuff at the wall.
You can tell where Hayley's been influenced by working with CHVRCHES, but it's not ripping off anyone or trying to be something they're not - I'm really liking this sound and really wanna review the new album.
| |
"Song is better than their first one but my expectations for this record are still woefully low."
lol sowing again with the terrible taste, first song was clearly better
| |
Boring af. Average af. Disappointed af.
| |
i like it - it's good and light and yeah
| |
"maybe they'll pull a Jimmy Eat World on us and the rest of the album will be made up of songs closer to their older material"
God I hope not
| |
listen to the old shit if you want the old shit is kinda my feelings about that
| |
Yeah considering that the two founding guitarists are no longer in the band, and the one guitarist they have is currently into African Jit music like Thomas Mapfumo (an afropop predecessor) as mentioned in a recent interview, and considering that Hayley has been morphing into a modern Gwen Stefani ever since they toured with No Doubt back in '09.....I'm not sure why anyone still expects them to be punk rock.
Taking into account their current lineup and the sound that's popular in music right now, this is exactly what I would expect Paramore to sound like in 2017.
| |
"I'm not sure why anyone still expects them to be punk rock"
I don't expect, I want
| |
"I don't expect, I want"
I mean yeah but let's be realistic: how many '00's rock groups have successfully retained the sound they started out with to the current day?
FOB - nope. PATD - nope. Linkin Park - nope. Thrice - nope. Maroon 5 - nope. TBS - kinda but they've faded from relevance. The Strokes - not really. Good Charlotte - nope. The All-American Rejects - nope. Jimmy Eat World - nope. Coheed & Cambria - nope.
.....etc. And most of the others just don't exist anymore. I'm just saying, can't really expect them to do what basically no other band has done.
| |
Paramore was doing well until they decided to change it tho
| |
mmm, debatable. Self-Titled had a lottttt of filler and most of the bad tracks were the ones that tried to be aggressive. Fast in my Car, Now, Anklebiters, Proof, etc. were all really weak efforts relative to the rest of their discography.
| |
but those are the tracks that don't fit their old style bruh
| |
^^^
| |
If the rest of the album is like the last two songs, this'll be heaps better that the self-titled. I mean, if the band insist on going in this direction, I'd much rather it be done like this.
| |
so, no one noticed north korea yet?
| |
^^^ North Korea and cumming. I was wondering if my eyes were messed up!
| |
Self-titled will always be fantastic no matter what sputnik says
Not sure about this one tho
| |
Fuck, at first I didn't really dig it, but by the end of it I kinda really enjoyed it
| |
Fast in my Car, Now, Anklebiters and Proof are some of my favorites on the self-titled actually, along with Still Into You, Part 2, and Aint It Fun.
| |
that's like, the most smelly pop songs on the album :[
| |
