yeah i had that problem with all of california. hoppus and skiba have 2 of the most recognizable voices in pop-punk, but the production and mixing are so shitty that they're hard to differentiate at times.

i couldnt even tell skiba was handling the 2nd verse of bored to death until i read that he sang it

I like Agony and Irony a decent bit. But the amount of quality Dan stuff getting bsided so Matt can cry about his break up for 40 minutes is actually infuriating

their last album was a bit of a return to form. this addiction is their only outright bad album. also the broken wing ep tops anything since probably good mourning.

MSIT is just as bad as This Addiction. Kiss You to Death is one of the worst songs I've listened to in my whole life

I mean both have like three good Dan songs and the rest sucks so I don't see much difference. I guess I, Pessimist and Only Love are the best on either album but that doesn't give it much of a lead

Stockholm Syndrome is probably one of my favourite songs they ever did.
idk, i think they actually managed to record the sound of them growing up on record. It's like you can hear the realisation that the party's over or something.
I think it has some of the strongest and most mature songwriting they ever attempted.

if i want maturity i'll listen to just about any other band ever.
