okay but I can just listen to Alkaline Trio instead so what's the point
| |
I didn't even bother with California. Maybe heard 1 or 2 songs. I thought this was pretty decent, but I don't really mess with this kind of music much so what do I know?
| |
isn't that all they've ever given us
| |
I can just listen to Alkaline Trio instead so what's the point[2]
| |
cool song
| |
I haven't heard any Alkaline Trio since Good Mourning or Crimson...
| |
isn't that all they've ever given us [2]
| |
appropriate title
"I can just listen to Alkaline Trio instead so what's the point" [3]
might be the worst song yet. and hearing skibas voice in this shit makes it that much sadder
| |
why would you re-release an album that isnt even a year old lmao
| |
I think it is coming out with basically enough new songs to be a different album. These guys will inform you, I'm sure.
| |
i heard they were like contractually not allowed to make this a new album or something so instead theyre just releasing a fuck ton of songs on a bouns disc for this as a loophole
| |
are they all tacked on at the end or are the mixed into the original tracklist? because if they're all tacked on at the end, then, lol
| |
holy shit that was unbearable. sounds nothing like alk3 btw.
skibz please abandon this sinking ship.
| |
oh okay bubs I c
| |
"why would you re-release an album that isnt even a year old lmao"
i can't think of a $ingle rea$on
| |
There are better alternatives in life than listening to Alkaline Trio, you guys.
| |
@satty we aren't saying that because they sound alike or because matt's in blink now. we're saying that because Alkaline Trio destroys blink 182
| |
"There are better alternatives in life than listening to Alkaline Trio, you guys."
Coheed or log off
| |
Miserable excuse for a song.
| |
gotcha storm. in that case i'm in full agreement.
in fact, any alk3 album > any blink album
| |
It's not that bad.
| |
it rly is tho
| |
sounds like a crappy crimson b-side tbh
| |
better than Parking Lot
| |
Hell no. So lame. I can just listen to Alkaline Trio instead so what's the point [3]
| |
California sucked hard. These two bonus songs are no exception.
| |
why the fuck are they rereleasing an album that's only one year old

Didn't quite catch that? What were you saying?
| |
it was supposed to be an illuminati pyramid but some of the characters aren't showing sry
| |
lol shit song vocals are fucking awful chorus is lifeless and annoying af
| |
it's not like solid production would've polished this turd into anything listenable, but holy fuck that compression.
| |
How does a band like this not have top tier production
| |
because most "top-tier" producers are still waging the loudness war. it truly boggles the mind.
the dude who produced it is also responsible for just about every shitty scene release within the last decade.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Feldmann#Selected_discography
| |
lmao of course its john feldman
| |
if they were to hypothetically record at the blasting room w/ jason livermore and bill stevenson (which is something all punk bands should aspire to), i'd probably try to find a way to not be a cynical asshole about it. it might even end up being decent. imagine being able to differentiate the drums from the rest of the mix!
but i'm a dreamer.
| |
why would you re-release an album that isnt even a year old lmao [2]
Vox still sound absolutely awful
| |
can't even recognize skiba on here and he's probably my favorite vocalist in the genre
| |
Uughh.
| |
Misery is literally the most overused word in pop-punk
| |
they do give me misery by releasing crap like this
| |
thatsthejoke.jpg
| |
"can't even recognize skiba on here and he's probably my favorite vocalist in the genre"
yeah i had that problem with all of california. hoppus and skiba have 2 of the most recognizable voices in pop-punk, but the production and mixing are so shitty that they're hard to differentiate at times.
| |
i couldnt even tell skiba was handling the 2nd verse of bored to death until i read that he sang it
| |
tragic. should've ended it at self-titled tbh
| |
Not bad, but neither was California
| |
wrong on both counts but thanks for playing
| |
let's not pretend any Skiba tune on the last few alkaline albums is any better than this fellas
| |
Yeah alkaline have been pretty meh since crimson
| |
I like Agony and Irony a decent bit. But the amount of quality Dan stuff getting bsided so Matt can cry about his break up for 40 minutes is actually infuriating
| |
their last album was a bit of a return to form. this addiction is their only outright bad album. also the broken wing ep tops anything since probably good mourning.
| |
Broken Wing EP is fantastic agreed - and weird how it's almost all Dan songs huh
MSIT is just as bad as This Addiction. Kiss You to Death is one of the worst songs I've listened to in my whole life
| |
that song's a dud, yeah, but no way is msit as bad as this addiction. it's got some legit bangers, unlike the latter.
| |
I mean both have like three good Dan songs and the rest sucks so I don't see much difference. I guess I, Pessimist and Only Love are the best on either album but that doesn't give it much of a lead
| |
this rules
| |
gonna buy 5 copies of the deluxe edition parity all day
| |
Surprisingly ok. Best thing I've heard from them since they came back.
| |
I always forget I bought a combo pack of My Shame Is True for $20 it came with both the vinyl and the cd. I don't think I ever listened to it on vinyl though.
| |
the tracklist I made for myself is like eight Dan songs to three Matt ones and goddamn it's a good listen. all that could have been
| |
alkaline trio at their worst is still definitely better than this although I agree about dan's songs being a lot better than matts nowadays
the first two songs on my shame is true are two of the best post crimson matt songs tho
| |
parking lot was awesome. this isnt. not terrible but not particularly good.
| |
"thatsthejoke.jpg"
Lol
| |
I kinda hope that people will finally start to appreciate Neighborhoods after listening to this crap.
| |
can't i think they're both crap?
| |
Sure you can. I just don't see how people love s/t and hate Neighborhoods.
| |
oh the s/t is fucking terrible, too.
| |
Miss you Tom
| |
Shitty song
| |
s/t is awesome and progressive for the band. neighbourhoods is just fun and not much more. it is fun though.
| |
I must be the only one who thinks the self-titled is one of their best.
| |
Double post
| |
nah a lot of people here tend to favor s/t over their other albums (including myself)
| |
self titled is unquestionably their creative peak
| |
Stockholm Syndrome is probably one of my favourite songs they ever did.
idk, i think they actually managed to record the sound of them growing up on record. It's like you can hear the realisation that the party's over or something.
I think it has some of the strongest and most mature songwriting they ever attempted.
| |
if i want maturity i'll listen to just about any other band ever.
| |
there are less mature bands
| |
not rly into the wiggles
| |
lollll
| |
Entire wiggles discog is 5 bro
| |
this band should've never got back together. the lame drama involved in that whole fiasco was more edgy than this crap
| |
even though i like neighborhoods yeah i wish they just stayed broken up. its clear tom had zero interest in writing for this band and mark is just pandering to what he thinks his audience still wants from him.
| |
Neighborhoods and then break-up. I like s/t best too.
| |
onionbubs, guess u could say they are staying together for the kids
| |
Stay Together For The Kids' Parents' Money
| |
in laura jane grace's autobio she mentions that when against me! was opening for blink on the neighborhoods tour they had notes posted all over the place backstage instructing the other bands' roadies and the venue workers to not talk or make eye contact with mark, tom and travis. punk rock!
| |
"onionbubs, guess u could say they are staying together for the kids"
lol pretty much
| |
this still rules
| |
also i'm not gonna @ anyone but if they listen to exclusively death metal why are they even on this post bitching
| |
i can take a hint.
| |
lol ily
| |
New blink sucks, give me Dude Ranch and self-titled any fucking day
| |
yeah poop joke punk rules agreed
| |
I hated the self parody of the what's my age again video, seriously, was that even necessary?
| |
that was stupid yeah
| |
ITT: people taking blink-182 seriously while decrying them as immature
| |
Really dig this, a lot better than Parking Lot.
| |
