Never been a huge Mastodon fan but everything about the song works for me, up until the bridge at least.

Brent is indeed my prefered of the three, besides the shrieks and wails. None can sing Pendulous Skin as he does.

Best of the three. This song actually made me kinda excited for the album again. Especially after "Show Yourself" I had my worries. This is pretty crunchy.

Sultan's Curse is still the best of the three. I have high hopes for this album, as this one and Show Yourself are growing on me hard

i liked this one but the production feels a little sterile and flat

song sounds like it might be pretty great, but it's hard to pay attention cause the mixing is so bad

i mean what the hell, sultan's curse sounds much better than this track. hopefully it's not a totally final version but i doubt it

Brann's vocals are the only thing I don't dig about this track.

I get the feeling this album is just going to be a "good" Mastodon album with little replay value, as they don't seem to be showcasing anything sonically new or particularly interesting. Solid song though.

It's excellent, I don't really get the hate. It's like a combination between Blood Mountain and Crack The Skye.

I like it, I must admit I've liked everything they've done. Leviathan is easily their best, but their last 2 albums are still great IMO. I'm stoked to listen to the whole album.

I like the track okay. Sounds like some mix of Once More Around the Sun and Crack the Skye. The mix is complete trash though. Some things never change...

Producer is Brendan O'Brien (Pearl Jam, AC/DC; previously worked with them on Crack the Skye onward), which helps explain the brickwalling.

Probably Brent sings less because he just can't pull the clean vocals live. On record they sound great. He should shriek more though, especially now when the others mostly sing.

Refrain definitely misses Brents fucked up vocals. Besides that it is a rock solid song but I hoped for something more out there. By now I think Once More might be the better record

I really don't know why everyone hasn't enjoyed the 3 tracks they've put out. I've dug it quite a bit.

Admittedly, I'm really not feeling the opening riff too much. More a fan of the second half of the song than anything else, definitely loving the Blood Mountain vibe I got from it, since that's my second-favorite album they've put out. Anyhow, I'm assuming that the record'll end up slightly above The Hunter in terms of ratings, but judging by everyone's reactions I think it's safe to say that the band's hit that point where they could release Leviathan/Crack the Skye 2.0 and folks would still find something to be upset about. (Not that I see them making any earth-shattering releases in the future myself, but eh.)
