Wasn't Good Apollo released in 2005?

My bad, I changed it. Don't know why I was under the impression this is the 15th anniversary of the album.

Neglecting Canada again, Coheed. I've been trying to see these guys live for 10 years and I think I've only had a real opportunity in 2007 and missed out entirely.

in a few attempts I couldn't get into coheed. Didn't like their style? Didn't like the singer's voice? Can't remember for sure, it's been a while.

TDH is great though. Excited to see what casey does next. I'm glad the Acts are done with, even though they were really good I kind of like the idea of him just doing songs that are independent from each other like on Migrant, even though that album had its flaws. And obviously Color Spectrum had plenty of good stuff as well.

Only show anywhere near me is Rock on the Range...damn. TDH is one of my favorites but I don't even think they are playing RotR, plus it's completely sold out so that sucks.

I'm going to the Pittsburgh show solely for The Dear Hunter. Coheed is cool and all, but Casey of TDH is one of the most prolific, creative, and emotional songwriter of all time.

Saw The Dear Hunter last year in NY and it was hands down one of the best live shows I've seen. I might have to catch this tour as well.

@ iambandersnatch

Same, then about 10 years ago something clicked. Each record is a little different and I like them for different reasons. It definitely pays off to listen to a whole album and get into it that way, despite that being a time sink for a band you're not enamored with.

Sometimes Claudio's low notes are grating, and they get a bit melodramatic and cheesy here and there, but ultimately it's hard to not fall in love with their energy and passion and melody.

Check out "The Crowing" if you want a great song that's representational of their range.

@iambandersnatch

I believe we still have one Act left. It was meant to be six in total.

So stoked for the concert.

How can a comic they are creating be loosely based on a story they created? That does not make sense.

@ Nomos Thanks, I'll give that song a whirl and maybe force myself through an album a couple times. It wouldn't be the first time I've bounced off a band a couple times before liking them.

@ Impervious Ah I thought this was the last one. Well I'm sure it will be great and I won't complain, but I'm kind of ready for a new direction. The last couple acts were both good but I feel like we've seen everything there is to see when it comes to this side of him.

Yeah they're worth checking out! Still might not be your cup of tea since I'm sure a lot of my residual affection for them is nostalgia, but they just might hook you. To be honest I'd avoid Year of the Black Rainbow, and their latest, Color Before the Sun. Their older stuff has a lot more admirable energy and riffs and hooks. To each their own though. YotBR was written when the band was in pretty rough shape.
