RIP Jaki Liebezeit (1938-2017)

2017-01-22 by praise jimmy EMERITUS | 20 Comments
Drummer for the renowned krautrock group Can Jaki Liebezeit passed away this morning from what has been described as "sudden pneumonia". Although most known for his contributions to Can and their albums, Liebezeit also worked with musicians such as Brian Eno (Before and After Science), Depeche Mode ("The Bottom Line", from Ultra) and many others.

From Can's official Facebook page:

"It is with great sadness we have to announce that Jaki passed away this morning from sudden pneumonia. He fell asleep peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. We will miss him hugely."

RIP Jaki. Thanks for the music.

So sad to see all these great drummers go recently between Liebezeit, Carl Palmer, Nick Menza, Alphonse Mouton, etc. Halleluwah is one of my top 10 favorite drumming songs of all time. RIP Jaki.

You should put a comma between Can and Jaki in that first sentence.
