Burial releases new EP

2016-11-28 by anarchistfish | 46 Comments
The new EP, Young Death/Nightmarket, by legendary dubstep producer Burial can be listened to below. The record was accidentally sold in certain stores in Canada last Friday, pushing forward the release date from the initially reported 5/12/16.

It is Burial's first new solo release since "Temple Sleeper" nearly two years ago.

Like this would be better if the crackling bullshit wasn't there and the songs would stay on a single path instead of going all over the place

Why does the EP title remind me too much of Death Magnetic

theres 0 flow to anything on here, just sounds ike he placed together some snippets of unfinished songs and hoped for the best.

FullOfSounds - kind of sad for this to be your first Burial. Still check Untrue and Kindred.

As for this, he's just wallowing around in his own established aesthetic with no direction (which I admit I still at least somewhat enjoy)

Yeah it's just a bunch of clips mixed together, not good at all. Some really nice clips of course, but if he stuck with one or two and built it up it would be much better.

It's too bad that we've waited a few years for a new Burial release and this is what we got... 13 minutes of him on auto pilot

It has that awesome signature burial sound but it really does sound like bits taken out of other songs and stuck together as one, especially on night market. Such a long wait after rival dealer I was expecting an album, or at least a bigger EP.

Its aight, not up to his usual standard, reminded me a bit of street halo, hopefully he has more stuff on the way soon

street halo is on another level in quality and style to this. sounds a bit like rough sleeper if anything, but a lot weaker

does anyone else find that "will be there for you" sample in the first half of young death out of place? like it doesn't fit in the song that well
