Britney album delayed 2007-06-27 by samthebassman | 12 Comments | Britney Spears will not release her new album until 2008, it has been claimed.
The pop superstar, who has endured a turbulent 12 months in the full glare of the media, is reported to be working on a follow-up to 2003's "In The Zone".
However, it has now been claimed that she's on "hiatus", delaying the new recordings into next year.
A spokesperson for Britney revealed the news, despite reports that work with producers such as Sean Garrett, Jonathan Rotem and Pharrell Williams is progressing well.
Leslie Sloane Zelnik commented: "I put her on hiatus. Brit's album is pushed until '08. If she has no album, there's no reason to do anything.
"I'm representing her in theory right now. I said that since the album is pushed back until '08, let's go on hiatus until we have a campaign to do."
Recently, Britney sought advice from her fans in choosing a title for the forthcoming LP, offering them a series of titles to choose from.
They included "Omg Is Like Lindsay Lohan Like Okay Like", "What If The Joke Is On You", "Down Boy", "Integrity" and "Dignity".

This one would be funny coming from somebody who wasn't as vapid and trainwreckish as LL herself. Britney just wants to seem like less of a disaster. The rest are decent, Integrity is pretty ironic and Dignity... isn't that a Hilary Duff album? Down Boy doesn't make sense. Overall I like What If The Joke Is On You? best.
