Awesome; I shot that! 2006-04-14 by MyRamona | 11 Comments | The Beastie boys who released their comeback 'To the 5 Boroughs' in 2004 are hitting theatre screens all over America with their live show 'Awesome; I fukin' shot that! It hit theatres nationwide on the 31st of March, and is visiting hundreds of theatres.
There is said to be a pre-show segment by long-time director and alter ego of 'MCA' Nathanial hornblower. The segment apparantly stars David Cross. I am unsure whether the show is leaving America and coming to Europe yet.

Yeah, Hornblower is also a sort of joke, because at one of the MTV video awards in the 90s, he came on stage and protested REM winning over Beastie Boys for best video (the video was Sabotage, I believe.) He also claimed that he came up with Star Wars before George Lucas, so yeah...

Well they've been doing that for 2o years. The great thing about the Beasties is that they aren't shy to explore new musical grounds - which they have done with every studio album. I'm more than happy to see them have a go at theatrical cinema.
