I saw this on myspace earlier, it was kinda surprising but island is losing alot of bands lately, thursday now thrice, I'm really curious where they will go next, I could see equal vision or something or maybe subcity again who know. Anyways I love thrice and can't wait for the new album

4!?
|
| |
4 is pretty intense...still looking forward to it.
|
| |
I've been looking forward to this for a while. It had better not suck.
|
| |
Yo how didn't you hear about that.
www.alchemyindex.com is a blog for their recording sessions. This was perfect timing to self-produce the album. I imagine they anticipated that Island was becoming a different (as in worse) label (as indiciated by Thursday's commentary on how the management and handlers changed since they first signed) and did this to ensure that they owned the record. That or maybe it was already in their contract I dunno.
|
| |
It's four albums but I dont expect them all to be 80 minutes of music. I'm excited for this.
|
| |
hopefully its not outrageously priced
|
| |
No they all have 6 songs on them. Water, air, fire, and earth.
|
| |
They're all 25-30 mins long. So ya, it's a meaty chunk of music.
|
| |
Man lots of bands are dropping off of Island for similar reasons. First Thursday now Thrice, well there goes my two favorites off of Island in a matter of months. I feel as though I should take back the comment I left in the Fightstar news but I'm really not in a huge rush to.
"realized that we have different visions for the band’s future
Yeah because I'm sure Island wanted Vheissu to be The Artist In The Ambulance part II.This Message Edited On 06.25.07

This is going to pretty much rule.
|
| |
I love Thrice and all, but isn't anyone else just a little skeptical about it?
|
| |
i'm a little skeptical about it, keeping up with their blog, they're adding a lot of funky stuff like standup bass and banjo, but then again i was skeptical about vheissu, and it turned out awesome for me. i'm just keeping my fingers crossed.

4 Discs? Sweet chocolate buddha!
|
| |
from the title of this artical i thought they were gonna say thrice scrapped the elements project
|
| |
haha 4 discs..
|
| |
my only worry for these albums is that the songs will be cut to around 3 minuets again. doubt it though.
|
| |
They're all 25-30 mins long.
they all have 6 songs on them.
4-5 minutes average.
|
| |
Nice maf
|

Ok not to sound like I'm all knowing but honestly I am completely perplexed as to how many of you had no clue they were doing a 4 disc album. There have been about 3 news articles about it. And bread the three or four songs I've heard live off of this were immense but I am still a tad skeptical as well.

Although I'm happy to see that Thrice is doing what's best for them, I'm sure Thrice and Thursday are just going to pull a The Starting Line.
"Okay, we've parted ways with Island Records because big labels are controlling us and we're not cool with that! So say hello to our new label, Virgin Records!"
They're not gonna go to like a small label.
|
| |
sounds like im gonna have to break out the dough for these cds
|
| |
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Thursday is going to a small indie label like Eyeball Records Chris. So who knows?
I can imagine Thrice signing to a major label again though.
|
| |
Thursday is not going to back to Eyeball. No way.
|
| |
dfelon, where did you hear each disc was 25-30 minuets?
last i recall, they didnt say anything about the length.
but wow thats like 100-120 minuets.
|
| |
I never liked these guys. Heard a couple of songs and just hated it tbh
|
| |
It could just be me wishing that though Chris, but I doubt that Thursday will get on another major label.
|
| |
I don't know if Thrice's next album is going to be worth listening to.
