New Cara Neir Track 2016-09-21 by Brandon Scott EMERITUS | 18 Comments | New Noise Magazine is streaming "Bound By Believers", the second track to be released from the Texan metal duo's upcoming full-length Perpetual Despair is the Human Condition, which is due to be released October 14th through Broken Limb Recordings.
The band says of the song:
“‘Bound By Believers’ is based on a harrowing story about a small ultraconservative colony in Bolivia, a story rooted in sexual repression and exploitation through religious zealotry. This is our take on one of mankind’s worst offenses. That people can take complete advantage of others through a warped scope of religion and form a false sense of vindication, going so far as to attributing the despicable acts to supernatural/paranormal events. That’s not only a physical exploitation of the victims, but it’s an exploitation of a person’s mind and their perception of the world around them. Unfortunately, the ugly truth is that there is no repose to the story because the vicious cycle continues (perhaps lessened due to some arrests made) but there is an end to the song and that’s where we convey a sense of retribution. The justified end we want to see. ‘Forgotten any true authority so we act on our own. I don’t want to forgive. I want to taste the sin. Lynch the wretched. Poison their fields. Just make it so. Bring the bastards forth, willing or not.'”

Really stoked for this album. Love the progression heard throughout their discography.
| | | This album is gonna rule so fucking hard. Great band. m/
| | | They also have a split out with Wildspeaker and it has quite a few tracks on each side:

| | | the split rules too
| | | Somebody has GOT to fix that stupid link breakage this site pulls, taking the ":" out of the URL when you click the hyperlink
| | | Ohhh I gotta jam that.
| | | fuck yeah
| | | just stop linking https instead of http and you'll be fine.
| | | fixd it
| | | Sweet the split is out, and only a $1?
| | | New track rules, had no idea they were putting out a full length too.
| | | Yea man, it is a frickin' awesome album. Crushing from start to finish. Not sure if I prefer it to their work on the split or not, but time will tell. Both are great.
| | | pretty good
| | | the whole the world is super dark thing while actively being infatuated with darkness and making no attempt, at least lyrically, to advocate anything better is slightly annoying tho. "perpetual despair is the human condition" - *sigh* "I want to taste the sin. Lynch the wretched." and the cycle continues.
| | | I would totally lynch these wretches tho lol
story is fucked
| | | New user confirms that this site still struggles with understanding the meaning of the word pretentious
| | | I thought this would be the one site that'd get it right, if any.
| | | It's based on this story, which the article forgot to include as the source: http://www.vice.com/print/the-ghost-rapes-of-bolivia-000300-v20n8
