hey it's the song from the teaser
| |
hell yeah
| |
slays
| |
swag
| |
Fucking rips
| |
I like the part where it chugs.
| |
Killer.
| |
The first one felt a bit run of the mill but this is pretty stellar. Love the way it progresses.
| |
Holy shit this owns. Wasn't impressed by the last track, but this one is great.
| |
Haake goes the fuck off and I love it...
| |
This song goes ham a f
| |
solo is so fucking whacked out
they're going intense with this one
| |
Grew on me hard. Haake proves once again that he is the best in the business
| |
Yeah this is sweet.
| |
sounds more like proper death metal than djentin
| |
awesome song, been on a hard Meshuggah kick lately
stoked for the new album
| |
I have mad respect for this band but the vocalist is starting to bore me.
| |
this was so much better than the last one
| |
Damn, I really need this whole album to drop.
| |
Sick song.
| |
The 360 thing was kinda fun to mess with, lol.
| |
Pretty good.
| |
"I have mad respect for this band but the vocalist is starting to bore me. "
Jens has one setting. Shout out for being 50, though.
| |
guess im the odd one out, wasnt feeling this as much as the first
| |
I have mad respect for this band but they have been releasing the same album for almost two decades now. When I got into them it was THE shit but at this point its meshuggah by the numbers
| |
Gonna have to disagree with you there. They've been tinkering with their style more than most metal bands do.
| |
This feels like it'll probably grow but I'm just kind of cold to it right now. Technically impressive for sure, but it's Meshuggah
| |
lmfao who is this joker
yea bro chaosphere and nothing are totally the same album
ditto catch 33
wtf did i just read
| |
so good.
| |
This is going to be a monster of a record, can't wait
| |
Good track, nice flow.
| |
Damn that's some good shit. Way better than the first single.
| |
this slays more and more with each listen lol
| |
correct
| |
It slays, yeah.
| |
Woke up to the good news. Does it slay
| |
Phwoar m/
| |
Haake still proves he's one of the best in the business. Solid song, can't wait for the full album
| |
i like how lyric videos are so prevalent in the genre with the worst lyrics of all genres
| |
song was zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
| |
and fucking rofl at the fanboys defending this band not being homogenous
| |
loving the intensity and aggression in new songs, dudes are playing like they're 20 again. organic production enhances that too I guess.
| |
lol potsy pls
| |
lmao dude this band is one of the most homogenous bands of all time thats just the way it is that doesn't mean they didn't ~used~ to be great
this song sucks ass tho
| |
Haake is dizzying in this track, Ye.
| |
why are they homogenous though? srs question
| |
band is homogenous, but they dont need to change
| |
but why are they?
| |
I like how the first one was more straight forward sounding
| |
Because they never have and never will 'relinquish' any of the plethora of gimmicks they are known for
| |
I don't necessarily think they need to change persae but I've definitely been growing weary of their style the last coup less albums
| |
Man that was BRUTAL
| |
groove under the solo fuckarn oath
| |
the key change at "SKY" so good
| |
havin' fun with meshuggah
| |
Rips dick. Haake is getting better with age
| |
Also potsy u cant say bad things about meshuggah bc polys m8
| |
yea this is a lot better than the first song fuck yea m/
| |
First song was a letdown to say the least
| |
Although they keep the formula pretty consistent, Meshuggah have always had a really unique sound for each album.
After the first single, I was worried that this would be 'Koloss' Pt. II. I loved Koloss, but wanted something a little fresh. This track makes me super excited for the new album.
| |
Agreed, better than first track. Album is shaping up to be a monster regardless
| |
They usually sound a bit different on each album this still has a sleepy, deliberate Koloss vibe. That's a good thing. Poor Jens sounds a bit rough these days tho
| |
itt: idiots who think chaosphere and nothing are the same album
never change pots
| |
On first listen this sounds like a drum solo with classic Meshuggah chugs over the top. After a few listens this sounds like a track that is meant to be a bridge between the track before and after it. Every Meshuggah album has been a grower for me so I expect the same as this but it'll be worth buying for sure.
Definitely enjoying Born in Dissonance a lot more, it's a more conventional Meshuggah track but iit reminds a bit of Chaosphere and is catchy as hell.
| |
Yeah, the drums are pretty nuts on this, but on first listen I thought it was okay. The song starts off okay, but doesn't really get my head banging till around the 2:00 mark, and then it's all good from there. Album will most likely destroy based on what I've heard.
| |
I will be benching blue whales to this track
| |
Bench dix
| |
Thought that the first half of this was awesome. Haake killed it on the drums and yeah, that riff ~2:00 splits teeth.
The second half was a bit 'eh'. The solo did nowt for me and the final riff I thought was really dull and kinda ill-fitting. Hope I warm to it.
| |
Not really sure I know what to do with a 360 deg video. I looked up a little bit, than down a little bit, and then just started spinning in circles. It wasn't really fun.
| |
band is boring even though they have crazy chops
| |
Awesome. Don't understand how people can refer to this as "boring"
| |
to be fair, almost every Meshuggah song has very similar monotone vocals and open chug riffs. It's how they combine those with the drumming is what makes them interesting. Poly rhythms or bust. I can totally see how someone would find this band one dimensional, even if what they are technically doing is insane.
| |
future breed machine is a masterfully composed tune, if you find that boring then you need a better set of ears
| |
-torts
| |
the mixing can be a problem
| |
Just listening to his vocal delivery it's like each word is flat. Each phrase does the same thing: it feels tight in the throat and then opens... Every single thing he screams. I enjoyed Koloss but for some reason this is bugging me now haha.
| |
song keeps getting better with each listen lol
| |
"Just listening to his vocal delivery it's like each word is flat. Each phrase does the same thing: it feels tight in the throat and then opens... Every single thing he screams."
yea I feel like Jens is losing some of his power. still sounds fine enough for another album or two
| |
he sounds fire tbh
| |
fuk yeah
junz hard
| |
he sounds fire and junz hard were totally my first thoughts as well...
| |
good, let's keep it that way >:]
| |
This band is so incredibly overrated it's hilarious.
| |
I don't know man, for better or worse they started an entire subgenre of metal.
| |
unintentionally too. they just played beastly riffs with a bitchin' tone and everyone just copied the shit out the formula
| |
"This band is so incredibly overrated it's hilarious. "
lmfao
| |
I mean they are rightfully credited with creating a whole style of metal like MO said. It's not like they are claimed to be the best band in the world by everyone. They're just considered ahead of their time and full of very talented players, which is pretty factual.
| |
"yea I feel like Jens is losing some of his power. still sounds fine enough for another album or two"
I mean the dude is 50 so the fact he still sounds pretty good right now is impressive. It's definitely showing signs of losing stamina and strength like days of old but he's still pretty decent. I agree though, he can go another couple albums more I bet before we see it hit terrible levels.
| |
Agreed
| |
"yea I feel like Jens is losing some of his power"
I saw it coming when I saw them live on the obZen tour and on the Alive DVD
he still kills it for his age like the dudes in Neurosis
| |
i saw scott kelly do live music for hamlet a few months ago lmao, he even had a part as the gravedigger m/
but yea good song
| |
Song absolutely destroys
| |
lowkey obliterates
| |
They did create a sub genre of metal more or less. The problem is they haven't progressed in sound at all in the last 20 years. Also, their guitarist barely touches anything other than his two heaviest strings. The worst offense is that the vocalist screams the exact same note 95% of the time. I mean how many times can you make the exact same song before you get bored?
| |
barely a problem tbh
| |
Reminds me a lot of "I" actually. Great piece.
| |
Haake is getting better with every album tbh, Obzen was where he really showed his shit off.
| |
The problem is they haven't progressed in sound at all in the last 20 years
Wrong.
| |
"Haake is getting better with every album tbh, Obzen was where he really showed his shit off."
nah his best work was far and away Catch 33
| |
ha ha
| |
he's just consistently incredible, he continues to impress me with each new record
every time Meshuggah releases some new stuff and I hear Haake's drumming, it's like if he's Obelix, but he still drinks that magic potion, even if he doesn't need to really, because he had already fell into druid's cauldron of magic potion he was a kid
| |
God bless you for an Asterix reference
However the potion has no effect on Obelix right?
| |
haha honestly, I can't remember, but I think you're right. for a moment there I thought he would get like even stronger or something. oh well...
| |
Awesome track, really wish that outro lasted longer though.
Also if you think Meshuggah have been releasing the same shit throughout their years then you need new ears.

Haake is insane
| |
The real deal.
| |
What a monster.
| |
