Bon Iver Unleash God Upon Us

2016-09-02 by Sowing STAFF | 37 Comments
Esteemed indie-folk project Bon Iver has released its latest single, 33 "God", from Vernon's upcoming third LP entitled 22, A Million. The track continues down the experimental path laid out by earlier singles, fusing James Blake-esque electronics with pristine folk music.

Overall this marks the third single released for 22, A Million, which is due out September 30, 2016. Listen to 33 "God" below:

So, It seems like I'm the only one who has hated both new songs. Hate might be a strong word, I just found them meandering and boring.

what on earth is "james blake-esque electronic" about this?

@Lucid The overdriven bass and skittery production are classic UK bass production techniques. Vernon's vocals are also heavily distorted in ways that he hasn't done before (but that Blake has). It also helps that Blake is a credited contributor to the album and definitely helped put these songs together.

"what on earth is "james blake-esque electronic" about this?"

whats "james blake-esque electronic" about it is that james blake is the only "electronic" of any sort that sowing is at all familiar with

so naturally they are exactly the same.
