Saw Alcest a couple years ago opening for Opeth and it was kind of boring but this is nice. Also I dig the artwork so I'm bound to check it out anyway.

Totally agree with this, I don't really see many similarities with Shelter at all. Mostly reminds of Ecailles.

Neige's harsh vocals are probably my favorite in bm.Glad to have them back

They're pretty great, and actually seemed to have a little extra stank on them this time.

Based on this alone, it seems as though the album might fall (tonally) somewhere between Écailles de Lune and Shelter. Great to hear Neige's screams again (my favorite in this genre), as well as more driving guitar work.

What bugs me though is how the snare is mixed, as I could hardly hear it at times towards the end of the song.

Neige had great vox, too bad the only raw BM we got from him was the alcest demo, what a shame

Yeah. He did do vox with Glaciation, though, and they're not the prettiest bm band out there. So that's something, I guess.
