Thirty Seconds to Mars post teaser

2016-08-02 by Toondude | 43 Comments
Alternative rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars have officially shared a video, entitled 'Thirty Seconds to Mars / Interscope: 2017," as well as the hashtag "#MarsIsComing" on Facebook and other social media websites. This announcement speculates that the rock group are heading back into the studio to write new material next year.

Their previous album, Love Lust Faith & Dreams, was released in 2013. Lead singer and actor Jared Leto has since won an Academy Award for his performance in Dallas Buyers Club and will currently play The Joker in DC Comic's Suicide Squad.

The last album sounded like it was written by a bunch of jokers.

I agree. The band started making obnoxiously long music videos for the singles on ABL but the songs are still great.

these guys have a few great tracks but overall very boring albums. Last album was a snoozefest and a half, but damn they do now their way round an anthemic chorus.

The electronics here make it sound like he might be jumping on the synthwave train.
Not really sure how I feel about that.

i liked city of angels for a staple 'emotional ballad' track.

There's bits and pieces of their last album that I really like. City of Angels and Up in the Air are both decent tracks. Birth and Pyres of Varanasi play with some cool sounds too. I really like the first minute or so of The Race but it gets really boring and repetitive after a while. I also like Jared's vocals on End of All Days and Northern Lights, both really different to what he's done before. I think the problem is all the tracks have little pieces that sound good but none of them are really outstanding as a whole, and the full album just sounds average because of that.

God damn is their debut ever a guilty pleasure. They lost any sense of identity or passion after that though. Went full-on shlock. Hopefully they redeem themselves, because they've got the potential to!
