63 years old Arrigo Barnabé, in a nod to his groundbreaking 1980's release "Clara Crocodilo" presents a new band formation with the all-female quintet Quartabê - Ana Karina Sebastião on bass, Joana Queiroz on sax and clarinet, Maria Beraldo Bastos on clarinet and Mariá Portugal on percussion.
On a interview with "O Globo", he said that "the girls injected more rhythm to the record, and I liked it very much (...) “Clara” has become poppier, if that's possible"
In the excerpt of the performance below, the band shows much enthusiasm and some catchy grooves pretty much alien to Arrigo's work, one of the most proeminent faces in brazilian avant-garde/outsider scene.
