Brand New rework demos

2016-07-12 by elliootsmeuth | 32 Comments
Seven months after releasing the remaster of the Fight Off Your Demons demo, entitled Leaked Demos 2006, Brand New is at it again with three fully reworked tracks from the aforementioned Fight Off Your Demons demo, appropriately titled 3 Demos, Reworked. The three songs that were reworked are "Brother's Song", "Missing You", and "1996". The EP also contains the remasters of the original tracks.

The EP can be found on their bandcamp, here: https://brandnewofficial.bandcamp.com/album/3-demos-reworked

First comment, hey! This is kind of frustrating; wish they would've just done this in the first place when they released the demos. They move glacially with everything they do so this should undoubtedly push LP5 back

Agree, this is kind of frustrating. The reworked versions sound good enough but I'm used to the demo versions so they kind of feel ill-fitting.

this is silly the band should focus on LP5

Actually id rather they just remake Fight Off Your Demons instead of making a new album.

I don't see how this will push back LP5 and I doubt it will. I kind of find this unnecessary but alright.

1996 is a better song than all the new singles combined but yeah new music would be nice

I liked the demos better. Just release that new album BN, quit pussyfooting.

These were very unnecessary. Missing You (or Untitled 4/Beacons as I've been calling it for the past however many years) has been a favorite of mine and this new version is fine but I just don't understand why these songs needed to be reworked. The higher quality demos were fine enough, with Untitled 5 being the only one I prefer the original leak to.

The album is probably going to end up as a 3, 3.5 album with the extremely die-hard fans giving it a 4, 4.5 while every other fan who feels like they deserve a proper experience like TDAG will feel underwhelmed and view it as a 2.

As much I want them to create something that enthralls me, I'll be content with every song on the album being better than I Am A Nightmare

is it just me or did jesse's vocals on 1996 get kinda annoying in the new version? the brothers one is tight but these are just alright

Awesome that they chose 1996. Feel like it loses a little something though

I'm glad Jesse changed that cheesy singing guitar line in 1996 and I actually love the new version more than the old but it feels a little slow

I'll admit, their need to divulge as little information as possible about their status is really frustrating, but everyone needs to hop off the anti- brandwagon. The only thing they did was release one lame single and leave you impatient bastards in suspense.
