passable song, really dumb video
@bubs - pretty sure it's "aw-veh-thurr," really not too difficult compared to like nearly everything else they've done lol

Alright so here goes:

The way they slowed down the woman's movements made them feel, at points, like they were intended to almost mimic interpretive dance, sort of like in their video for "Valtari." You could almost say this was like a dark parody of that video, intended to be a social commentary about alcoholism and mental illness.

And then the whole godamn thing goes all Rammstein on me and idk what this is anymore. Is she the embodiment of death, plague, and chaos? Did not expect that at all.

I do give her kudos for rolling, crawling, and generally spasming her way through town without dropping, losing, or spilling much of her vodka. That's some expert level alcoholism right there. A+

hmmm I don't mind the track at all although that one sound that comes in I could do without and the video is rather awful but all the same looking forward to seeing them this summer and looking forward to any of the new material they release

Sounds more like a soda can being opened

But yeah it's insanely annoying, took me out of the song pretty hard

I could get behind the song if it wasn't for the soda can / gunshot sound, which is mixed waaaaaayyyy too loud. I think it would sound alright if they kept it at a decent level but... holy shit... the way they bring it to the forefront is just so annoying.

Anyone else think that part sounds kind of like Boards of Canada though?

Friend of mine said that noise sounded like the impact noise in the old Tekken games:

I kind of like it. I think I'd prefer the gunshots to be lower in the mix. They try for a mix between transcendent and dark here, but it doesn't reach the heights of other Sigur Ros songs, especially for a single. They're playing with textures a lot which seems like it's gonna be their thing with the new album. But I don't know how much that's enhancing their sound.

Song is decent. Think it'll be a grower. I can see the progression to this from Kveikur.

Video is suitably insane.

both brennisteinn and this blew me away on the very first listen. interesting to see how the rest of the album lives up to this, as tbh brennisteinn ended up being easily the best song on kveikur

got some real high hopes for the album
