Apparently the original mix was really rushed and was done in only three days or so due to power failures at the studio it was being mixed in. Ballou also didn't mix the original.

Anyway, this sounds huge.

Album sounds fucking great, though it sucks that jake's spoken word on the title track is even quieter on this. Also, Kurt said there is glockenspiel on Last Light but I just can't hear it.

^Yes, the spoken part on the TT being quieter is my only big gripe with this remix. Overall, I love the increase in clarity.

Oh hell yes. The original mix was awful, and it makes it downright unlistenable on even mid-fi gear. Will be picking this up for sure.

The new mix breathes so much better! Wish they would do this to Jane Doe (make it cleaner and more open). It may sound a bit shallow, but a quality mix allows me to enjoy music several fold more.

I love Jane Doe, but the clipping is horrendous. It's like my ears are being cheese grated. The stage depth and body also suck compared to this new mix and Axe to Fall.

Dude I'm just getting excited by this remix. It sounds so fucking good...who knew YFM with decent mixing would be that much better.
