It really achieves nothing, just a very slow-paced mediocre song, with nothing special about it. They can do so much better.

Nah, new song is killer and has a nice atmosphere.

These dudes are on fire right now. Song/artwork is sweet.
| |
well that was pretty meh after Wrongdoers
| |
hell yeah that was great
so pumped for this
| |
I like the haunting grunt of the instruments on this song but I was hoping there would be more to it. Still a good song.
| |
Considering how long these guys have been going, I'm surprised they didn't go for a full-on Sword In Mouth type album. Regardless, rules. Been a good week in metalcoreland.
| |
Not every heavy band loses their balls when they get older, fortunately
| |
Sounds solid. Pretty good in terms of singles.
| |
The pretty track they've been playing live is sick too, also super heavy
| |
They'll never top Ahh! Shark Bite! Ahh!
| |
classic track
| |
norma jeans not my lover
| |
Pretty swee.
| |
Song rips. New album should be pretty good.
| |
Damn this crotch grabbingly good
| |
Pretty good. I still need to check this bands discog, but I'm still pretty excited for the new album.
| |
just check Wrongdoers and leave the rest tbh
| |
no check everything (especially the first) except the anti mother
| |
Check everything, including Anti-Mother. It's not a bad album.
| |
"Check everything, including Anti-Mother. It's not a bad album"
Exactly

cool song, cool band. the new album's probably gonna rule.
| |

no check everything (especially the first) except the anti mother [2234455666]

Mixed signals, but I'm a completionist, so I'll probably check everything.
| |
yeah niceee
| |
Jesus, I didn't know where they'd go from Wrongdoers, I felt like that album was them achieving the peak of what their sound could be, but fuuuuuck this is sick.
Anti Mother has a jam or two but their discography is massive, you don't really need it.
| |
Wrongdoers > Redeemer > O'God > Debut = Meridional >>>>> Anti-Mother
I imagine most would put the debut higher but opinions and all. I seriously can't get enough of this new song though. Unf
| |
C'mon brah Anti-Mother isn't that bad. Definitely their least fleshed-out release but it has jams.
Super stoked for the new album though, can't wait to hear more
| |
I think Anti-Mother is a total shit stain that I like to pretend doesn't exist. It might have a 3.1 but it's a 2 in my eyes.
Agreed on the new album though. I've been hyped since they entered the studio
| |
lol ok then. I admit I kind of hated it when it came out, especially considering that it came after Redeemer, but I've taken a liking to it in recent years.
New one seems to have some sort of space theme going on judging by the track titles.
| |
aww yiss
| |
Never 'got' this band.
Wrongdoers was so eh and so is everything I've heard.
| |
really? wrongdoers was probs my favourite
| |
Pretty sweet
| |
Pretty good song. Still need to check out Wrongdoers, damn...
| |
Wrongdoers is one of my favourite metalcore records of all time and I like meridional and antimother as well. this didn't really impress me though. but still hoping for the album
| |
wrongdoers is a band doing something interesting with metalcore in the 2010s which is like the great while whale of the genre these days... and always really, but still.
There's not much about The Anti Mother that makes it stand out, especially after releasing their best album in Redeemer a couple years prior.
The way this song starts with the same dissonant guitar note that Coffinspire does and makes you think some crazy math riffing is coming and then it just devolves into this sludgy, riff filled beast that Corey absolutely roars and rips over... fuck, so good. Preordering that vinyl hardcore.
| |
It's always fun to remember that josh scogin founded this band. The sound has evolved sine their first album so much. Listening to this single I completely forgot josh scogin was a part of this band once. Crazy. New track is super, looking forward to the album. I wish Josh scogin would release something new soon too (or *ahem* bring the chariot back together*ahem*ahem* would die for that)
| |
wow that was fucking tight
| |
sick track, damn
| |
I think Anti-Mother is a total shit stain that I like to pretend doesn't exist. It might have a 3.1 but it's a 2 in my eyes. [2]
New song is awesome.
| |
The latter half of this track particularly is crushing. I can certainly get on board with this.
| |
need to check this asap
| |
They'll never top Ahh! Shark Bite! Ahh! [2]
Anti-Mother was my introduction to this band and I grew to like it. It wasn't as heavy as their other albums but that first song "Vipers, Snakes And Actors" is a fucking awesome jam to lift/run to. But, Redeemer and Meridional are both definitely better as a whole album. Wrongdoers was pretty sweet so I'm excited.
| |
Some of ya'll are crazy. I think Anti-Mother is probably better than Meridional. Regardless, they don't have a bad album.
| |
wow man song blew me away
| |
Band has really found it's sound. Norma Jean renaissance is sorta akin to how Soilwork has been lately
| |
Song sounds great to me. I'd much prefer more material in this direction rather than Wrongdoers 2.0
| |
Song is totally awesome. Got better after the first listen too. Good sign.
| |
It makes me happy that they're still around
| |
Meh. Nothing special. Its kinda groovy though
| |
I remember being very pleasantly surprised by Wrongdoers. This song isn't nearly that good.
| |
Wrongdoers is the only mainstream sounding metalcore I have ever dug so hype for this yes
| |
These guys must be androids or something, making their best work on their 6th and 7th albums. Wrongdoers was damn near flawless and hopefully this will continue the trend.
