I found the vocals to be a tad bit annoying at times, but this was an awesome album otherwise. The uplifting nature melded really well with the thrashier instrumentals.

Ov you'll hear it in the instrumentals here; they've got a definite thrash vibe to them.
|
| |
You're telling me the guitar tone and arrangements at 5:25 (specific example) don't give you a thrash vibe?
Regardless, it's still an awesome album.

i'm enjoying this more than i thought i would, the songwriting is more adventurous than in 'stargazer' and the vocals actually really fit rather than feeling gimmicky
kind of see what you mean about the drums though
|
| |
i'm actually on my third spin and digging it quite a lot

Yeah, definitely not thrash at all, this basically feels like Alcest meets Scale the Summit, which isn't bad, but it's also just not thrash whatsoever.
|
| |
~*dream thrash*~
Ok I'll fix it.
|
| |
No, definitely not black metal either, it's just got that airy, dreamy quality that Alcest does - both instrumentally and vocally.
|
| |
does anyone give three shits what genre it is
|
| |
one for each shit [: !!!
|
| |
This is really cool, I dig it a lot. Jamming it a lot harder today than the new Letlive, actually. Go figure.

If I were to make a comparison so far, it would be the newest Lantlos album.
|
| |
good stuff
|
| |
Comparable to Melting Sun yes. But faster.
also fix'd the article :-)
|

If Anathema's - We're Here Because We're Here, and SUN BAT HER had a baby it would sound like this. Thrash? lol.
