there was this one time Devin Townsend worked with some big time pop producers to create a proper "hit" for him... I *think* he mentioned that they were guys who'd worked with Nickelback. He mentioned how they told him which chords and which sounds work, which don't, how to most effectively work the hooks--the whole shebang.

We'll never hear the song. Devin buried it because it was out of line with his whole idea of being an artist, and the amount of money required to get it on the radio. Fun little tidbit I was reminded of after the Chad Kroeger comparisons.
