Another new Eths song

2016-03-03 by DatsNotDaMetulz | 5 Comments
French metal quartet Eths have released a second song from their upcoming album Ankaa, entitled "Nihil Sine Causa". The album, which features an array of guests including Sarah Layssac (Arkan), Jon Howard (Vise Versa, Threat Signal) and Björn "Speed" Strid (Soilwork) as well as session drummer Dirk Verbeuren (Soilwork, Aborted, Bent Sea), is out April 22 via Season of Mist.

Howard and Layssac appear on the new single, which debuted yesterday through Revolver Magazine.

Song was dominated by guests. Didn't care for it. First song without the outside influence was substantially better.

I'm kinda excited for the Speed song though.

I'm actually surprised at how much I liked this.

I think a lot of the people who are already familiar with Eths (which is too few people) might dismiss them as a female fronted nu metal band that arrived late to the party but if you listen to the stuff they released from III onwards and they've moved into more death metal and atmospheric territory. I'm not 100% sure this can be called death metal but it's definitely in the extreme metal area nowadays. III still had elements of the nu metal past scattered in there (Gravis Venter and the cover of Madonna as examples) but that's changed since Rachel replaced Candice.

Not bad but not really to my tastes.

III is an incredible album though, an absolute must have.
