@relinquished look at me with a straight face and say that Vertikal is even remotely as good as Eternal Kingdom, SATH and Salvation dude.

Its a good album but its literally got shit on their last 3 releases. post-metal is a decaying genre and its abundantly clear through the fact that isis is defunct, cult of lulu is slowly running out of steam, and neurosis' last album was their worst in like two and a half decades by a long shot. not to mention literally any other post-metal giant i can think of is releasing an abundance of crap lately.

I can respect if you like Julie Christmas, thats perfectly fine and dandy. I personally find her to be one of the most insufferable singers of all time, opinions and what-not, but the fact alone that post-metal is dying makes me pretty not wrong regardless of whether or not Christmas floats your boat.

I'll say I like SATH and Salvation more than Eternal Kingdom and that EK is on par to Vertikal

I am biased towards EK, its my fav Cult of Lulu due to sentiment/nostalgia all that cheeseball shit

also the fact that i've been moving away from the genre since probably impacts my opinion on vertikal as well, maybe if i had heard it a few years ago i wouldnt think it was as inferior as i do.

I got that same sentistalgia with EK but stronger with the previous 4.

I championed sludge and doom from the start but thought post-metal would be interesting while it lasted. that's what happens when you take away the hardcore element of it all and put more longwinded passages filled with nothing.

well the news of the record got leaked hard by a hacker so at the least the band can do is release a trailer for an album that's still a couple months from being released.

I think they just tossed out the teaser asap because the info was leaked. I doubt they took much time on it but yes they could have thrown something more substantial in.
