Zayn Malik releases solo song

2016-01-29 by MattTD | 32 Comments
British singer Zayn Malik has released his first ever solo single "Pillowtalk".

Malik, now simply working under "Zayn", split from the popular boyband One Direction in March last year, citing that he wished to live like "normal 22-year-old who is able to relax". This is his first musical output since One Direction's Four, which was released in late 2014, and his first ever solo single.

"Pillowtalk" is the first song from Malik's Mind of Mine, which is to be released in the Spring via RCA Records.

This isn't too bad actually; still pretty generic though and Miguel and friends are more interesting.

The only thing raw around here is my ears after being beaten to a pulp by this amazing track, what an emotional rollercoaster. Can't wait to 5 the album.

well all the bieber singles are still really good, even better now that we've heard the rest of the album which is mostly meh or crap.

This is horrendous. One Direction was at least catchy and fun; this is just generic as hell, and the dude is clearly trying so damn hard to be taken seriously.

So is it titled Pillow Talk cause it sounds like he's singing though a pillow?

I like this. Not amazing but a solid debut single, and I'm hoping it's the "pop single" and other songs on the album are moodier, considering most of the album was produced by Malay (Frank Ocean's producer) but this wasn't.

Exceeded my admittedly low expectations. Wouldn't mind it if it was on the radio, but not something I would seek out either.

Why do I get the feeling Zayn & Nick Jonas would end up going pretty good in a collab track?

It's one song what the fuck does that even mean

Anyway, I'm digging this, looking forward to ripping out my ears when it gets on radio.
