I usually like everything Coheed does, but man, I am not feeling this one at all.
| |
Damn, verses and pre-chorus rock but that chorus is flat as fuck. Still like it more than the previous two tho
| |
I really dig Here to Mars. I'll have to give this a few listens, maybe it will click a little more.
I hope these tracks translate better live, I'm seeing them in 2 weeks, and my hype level is not as high as I thought it would be.
| |
Yeah this is probably gonna top Descension and not much else
| |
I liked this, feeling a bit better about the album now but I'm still convinced this will be their weakest album.
| |
Ehh? Ehh.
This is the most standard thing they've done on this album and you can hear it come out in the sound.
| |
at least it's better than "You've Got Spirit, Kid"
| |
I dunno, I found that song to be pretty fun. Not amazing, but I still enjoyed it. I think I like this one the least thus far.
| |
Liked the other two songs but this one is pretty meh
| |
I'll have to give it a couple more takes. The first time I played it I was not as instantly impressed as I was with "Domino the Destitute" or "The Afterman".
| |
song is a bit of a grower. it's not phenomenal but it's decent enough
| |
It's hard for me to believe but I haven't really played any of their singles regularly since they were released which sucks considering how much I love this band...
| |
cant wait to 3 the hell out of this album
| |
All of my hope for this has gone. It's like they made a conscious effort to produce the most vapid, boring song of their career.
| |
Bummed that this album is turning out this way - Coheed has always been one of my favorites. Hoping that this is just a grower!
| |
Yeah, not keen on this new coheed at all. saying that as a big fan
| |
Eh? Surprised at the negativity on this one.
Am I the only one getting a Glassjaw vibe from this?
| |
probably
| |
this album is gonna be a HARD 4
| |
This is gonna be a SOFT 2.5.
| |
Welp, at least their first three albums are awesome. The rest has been mediocre at best.
| |
nah you're mediocre at best
| |
I like You've Got Spirit Kid quite a bit, don't really care for Mars yet...this song is easily my second favorite if not my favorite song that has been released
| |
at least it's better than "You've Got Spirit, Kid"
Nope.
| |
I like it, definitely my favorite of the 3 songs previewed so far. I still find it a little lacking though, compared to their older material.
That bass though. Thank god for Zach Cooper.
| |
The album with the crescent moon on rules hard but these guys have been a joke for while now.
| |
"Nope."
Yep
"these guys have been a joke for while now."
Nope.
| |
I thought this was quite fun, better than the other two for sure. I had been deliberately putting this album off to avoid disillusioned fanboy blues (YOTBR and Decension were hard enough to bear as it was), but I'm mildly interested now.
| |
why do people hate on YOTBR and Decension, I thought those albums are great.
| |
Decension wasn't bad and had some songs I really dug, but about half of it is plain forgettable. YOTBR is slightly worse; the highlights (Juggernaut, World of Lies, Symphony) come across as NWFT b-sides and the new style wasn't my jam (although Far was nice). Both albums were kinda flat on the whole imo.
| |
Fair enough but I honestly though In Keeping Secrets was their weakest album tbh, at least until this album comes out.
| |
Yeah, that opinion was mind blowing.
| |
Is this going to be Year of the Black Rainbow Pt. 2? I am convinced that if Coheed alludes to color in their album titles, than it's going to be average.
| |
Gross, I don't like this lol
| |
"past the point of opinion and subjectivity and now youre just wrong"
I never said it was bad, it's a great album. It just didn't catch my attention as the rest did.
| |
Not bad
| |
descension was better than ascension tbh
song's alright
| |
Haven't cared about Coheed since YOTBR.
:/
| |
this is really boring and dull. At least it reminded me that I need to go through Coheed's discography at some point.
| |
Not the greatest thing. Not too worrying though. Coheed released a bad album while they were finding their feet after the conclusion of their 4 part epic. Both of the Afterman albums were fantastic. This is just another transitional period.
| |
Gave the track a proper number of listens and I actually love it. Lyrically it's more straight forward but that's okay cause there's no concept this time and it sounds a lot like their earlier work IMO.
This song + the teased intro track have got me excited for this album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5st75Ji2u4g
| |
Song is pretty good. Probably my second favorite behind Here to Mars.
| |
It's not as flat-out awful as the last two released....but...hopes still not high. Lyrics too meh, music still as flat and inoffensive as everything since Descension.
| |
new album leaked, will check it later
| |
Linky?
| |
it's on Kingdom-Leaks
| |
Thanks; really tempted to listen, but eh I can wait a couple more weeks when it officially drops. Want to give it a proper spin.

Thanks, might look into it; really tempted to listen, but eh I can wait a couple more weeks when it officially drops. Want to give it a proper spin.
