Nothing More lose drummer

2015-09-10 by Toondude | 9 Comments
Texas/Louisiana based rock band Nothing More just announced on social media that their drummer Paul O'Brien has stepped down. He said in a statement:

The hardest decision I’ve ever made was to step down from Nothing More. This is a very important band with an amazing message and it’s been an absolute honor to be a part of something so much bigger than myself. I’ve given every ounce of my heart and soul to this. Being on the road isn’t for everyone, and I’ve learned through a very real experience of playing live for hundreds of thousands of people that I am one of those individuals. Being in the spotlight so much triggered some major anxiety issues that were buried deep down inside of me, and it’s just too much of a mental struggle to carry on. Depression is very real. On the road it can feel like there’s just no escape. This is something that I’ve carried around for a long time. And it’s gotten to the point where I have to make a move to do what’s best for myself and my future.

It is currently unknown who will take O'Brien's place while the rest of the band will start touring starting on September 14th.

About how hard is it for a vocalist to do drums and vocals at the same time? Because I know their current vocalist was originally the band's drummer when it first started in 2003.

Their current vocalist still plays a couple drums on stage during the live show. Seen them three times, easily one of the best live shows in the genre

Hm, I'd imagine he would be a fill in if they don't get a drummer in time. It's a shame they lost Paul, but good for him to muster up the resolve to make such a desicison like this. Best of luck to him.

Guess he felt the road had nothing more to offer him.

Band is tight, sure they won't have an issue getting a new drummer.
