L.A. House of Blues closing 2015-07-10 by Brendan Schroer EMERITUS | 7 Comments | The House of Blues on the Sunset Strip is finally closing down on August 7, 2015, after 20 years of shows. The venue is sadly being replaced with a space for hotels and condos, but its Facebook page has announced that the owners are looking for a new spot in L.A. and hope to reopen the House of Blues at a later date. It's unfortunate that such an iconic House of Blues location has to go, considering it's the headquarters of the whole chain.
The following is the official announcement from the HoB Facebook page:
Our legendary House of Blues on Sunset Blvd.— the flagship for 20 years of our popular venues around the country — will operate business as usual while we look for a new home. We have a terrific relationship with our landlord, who has other plans to develop the property and we’re working together on a very smooth transition. We have years to find that perfect spot for a new Los Angeles House of Blues home with no interruption for music fans. Stay tuned. The best is yet to come.
