New Slayer album in 2015

2015-01-28 by Cryptkeeper | 18 Comments
During a recent appearance at the Specialty Equipment Marketing Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas, guitarist Kerry King revealed [as transcribed by Blabbermouth], “We just pretty much got done recording.
We’re gonna go in for, like, ten days at the end of this run … and record some more stuff. We’ve got enough for a record now. We’re just gonna go in and record some more, ’cause we have time. And that
should be out early next year.”

Slayer have teased fans in recent months with photos from the studio, but it looks like their days at Henson Recording Studio are winding down. The band has been working closely with producer Terry Date on
the disc and earlier this year they unleashed the new song ‘Implode‘ at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards, wetting the appetites of their fans.
The veteran metallers will have a new sound on their next album with drummer Paul Bostaph, who returned to the band to replace Dave Lombardo. Meanwhile, Exodus‘ Gary Holt, who took a spot left empty by the
late Jeff Hanneman, is making his first appearance on a Slayer record.

The band’s own Tom Araya and Kerry King were in Las Vegas for SEMA to show off their new Scion x Slayer Mobile Amp tC. During the appearance, King plugged his guitar into the car’s custom system and rocked
out some killer riffs, as seen in the video below.

This has furthermore been confirmed by Nuclear Blast records via their promo.

"We’ve got enough for a record now."

This statement has me worried. I'm probably reading too much into it, but stuff like this makes it sound like they have just enough to fill a 30-40 album, which granted is usually the average length for a Slayer LP, but doesn't exactly sound like it's going to be super inspired or anything.

Fear Factory, Meshuggah and Immolation though? Yeah I'll pass on Slayer and bank on those three being sick.

Nile though! Get that beefy production back instead of that thin shite on Sethu!

Jeff and Dave were the best members of the band so I really don't care anymore. Jeff wrote all of their best songs anyway.

"I also like how a Slayer article has spawned a thread about Immolation"

slayer's new album is the one I'm least interested in of all the ones mentioned.

Immolation please tear shit up
