There's a distinct metalcore guitar tone coming from "What You Keep Alive", which is odd. Still, this sounds like it has potential.

Strings that don't seem to be thrown in haphazardly, as well.
| |
Back to more respectable track names.
| |
I feel like they're trying to throw back to Until We Have Faces, which I consider to be their worst album
First song sucks, the second one is okay.
| |
It pretty much sounds like they're going back to the old style. That's probably good enough for me. I'm
pretty much done with this genre though.
| |
Such a bad band
| |
no thanks

I'll definitely give this one a listen when it comes out. The last one was a huge disappointment (still can't make it through the whole thing) so I'm hoping this is as much of a return to form as possible. Really dig these guys.
| |
probably going to suck
| |
Doesn't sound bad as such, just safe as hell. Got a friend that like these guys, so I expect I'll be hearing the full length at some point.
| |
aw I missed my chance for strings
| |
Snake will do it
| |
might not be groundbreaking for them but it's good to hear them sound like red again.
| |
this won't be groundbreaking or anything at all indeed, but I think it will be awesome to just have an Innocence and Instinct Pt. II
| |
Vocal melody on What You Keep Alive is actually pretty cool.
| |
"I think it will be awesome to just have an Innocence and Instinct Pt. II"
Well it seems like we're going to have to settle for Until We Have Faces II for now.
| |
I love Skillet.
| |
I could go for that.
| |
I didn't think Until We Have Faces was terrible, but it did fall awfully flat halfway through. While it may not reach the height of Innocence and Instinct, I'm really hoping this new album falls somewhere between Innocence and Instinct and the first half of Until We Have Faces.
I liked the excerpts for "Darkest Part" and "Yours Again", but I'd need to hear a lot more of "What You Keep Alive" to know if I like that one.
| |
Skillet suck for the most part.
| |
Red suck for the most part.
| |
Skillet was only really good for two albums. Then they kind of fell apart.
| |
Seriously, you guys are never satisfied, are you? This sounds pretty awesome. Especially that first excerpt.
Also,

Always skeptical ≠ never satisfied
