New Waterboys LP in January 2014-10-08 by tancrni | 2 Comments | Nearly four years after their latest release An Appointment with Mr. Yeats, The Waterboys went to Nashville, to record their 11th studio album Modern Blues,
which will be released on January 19th.
The album, as the band site states, is going to be "an electric, soulful, bold, freewheeling rock'n'roll record with a skinful of killer new songs, some of which have been premiered live over the past few years".
Alongside with the drummer Ralph Salmins and the fiddler Steve Wickham there will be two musicians new to The Waterboys' line-up: Paul Brown on the keyboards and David Hood on the bass guitar. Further lead guitars are played by Jay Barclay and Austin soul guitarist Zach Ernst. Also the southern soul legend Don Bryant will appear on the album as a
guest backing vocalist.

Lol, no one has even rated a release of theirs that has come out in the past 24 years. Their 80's records were awesome but this sounds awful.

Yeah I know, I've added them recently because I'm planning to listen and eventually rate them all, for I found quite interesting all the
different sounds they managed to create during the 80's. This single actually sounds pretty bad, but I hope this is just that one bad
song bands nowadays usually release to launch the album, even if I don't have high hopes tbh. Anyway, will review this as soon as it
comes out.
