How can one possibly say this will be their best record when they don't even know who the vocalist is yet?

Considering their last single, this comes as no surprise. Honestly the entire band needs a kick in the ass. Hope he finds a fun new band. He's a really talented vocalist.

Bummer. He had a fairly unique tone and style. Band has been going a little downhill though.

his highs were so standard for deathcore, his lows were weak as fuck, don't see what people ever saw in this guy, hopefully the band can find someone better.

I've never been a big fan of these guys, but their stuff is still incredibly fun to jam from time to time.

i always thought brandon sounded kind of weak on recording, but dude was pretty good live when i saw them

Ya'll seen the video of the chick trying out? I don't care about this band at all, but I hope they pick her just because. Fleshwrought shared her tryout video on their Facebook, so I watched it and was pleasantly surprised.

And honestly, it would be a smart move for them to pick a girl just because their band will have more buzz since they'd be one of very few deathcore/djent/whatever bands fronted by a girl. They're too bland as-is and they're gonna fall into obscurity if they don't change something up.

To be perfectly honest, there is something off about the low growls of most of the guys ever from deathcore bands. They just do it differently than death metal vocalists do it, like without the depth and the power. The only vocalist from a metal band with no hardcore influences I know to growl like that too would be Stu Block, and no one likes him particularly for his growls.

I like to think that deathcore vocalists try to make their vocals somewhat understandable, where when I hear death metal vocalists it's usually pretty hard to understand what they're growling.

Mikael Akerfeld, Corpsegrinder and many more have legit growls and perfectly clear enunciation, so I don't think that's it. I think deathcore growlers like they sound because they're just trying to bring their scream as low as possible, and a legit growl requires an altogether different throat alignment.
