Fifth Harmony details debut LP

2014-08-29 by Peter | 4 Comments
After their stunning and unexpected win at the 2014 MTV VMAs, girl-group Fifth Harmony has finally revealed the important details regarding their long-awaited debut LP, which has been dubbed Reflection.

Reflection will feature both a standard and deluxe edition: with 11 on the standard and an additional 3 bonus tracks on the deluxe. There are talks of a Target-exclusive edition for the deluxe featuring even more additional material, but as of now that has not been confirmed. Fifth Harmony's debut EP, Better Together, featured an Target-exclusive track titled "One Wish" which is why talk of additional material is being discussed. With the help of social media a la Twitter and Facebook, Fifth Harmony revealed their album-art for the debut LP which was "unlocked" through shares on social media. In another stunning and unusual move, the girls decided to scrap their original album-art and shared an entirely new cover on August 22nd that will be the official album-art for Reflection to the delight of Harmonizers everywhere.

Along with the new album-art, 5H revealed a second single for their debut LP dubbed "Them Girls Be Like". It was released immediately after their win at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards as a "thank-you gift". Facing a stacked field of competition, which featured British R&B crooner Sam Smith, rapper Schoolboy Q, singer-songwriter Charli XCX, and Australian boy-band 5 Seconds of Summer: Fifth Harmony was able to overcome the massively long odds of winning the prestigious "Artist To Watch" VMA and become the first girl group since 2008 to win a VMA. They were the only nominee for the VMA who hasn't charted a song on the Top 25 to date. The award was voted 100% by fans who could go to the official MTV site and vote. This is their first major music award nomination and win.

You can view the official audio video for their second single "Them Girls Be Like" and their first single, "Bo$$", music video below. Reflection is slated for a November 17th, 2014 release via Epic Records and Syco Music.

I am confident that I'll be ripped for covering Fifth Harmony anything, but who gives a shit? I certainly don't, and they actually beat some pretty big artists, some that are favorites on Sputnik. It brings me laughter reading the comments though.

Definitely reviewing the album ASAP, and I promise an unbiased review when it comes. I admit, I am a fan of these gals, but despite that I'll leave that all aside for this album review. I will rip and say negative things when due, so don't worry guys just cuz I am a fan doesn't mean I'll give em a 5 or whatever. I'm certainly not like that one user who gave a Bieber album a 5, I'm more professional than that.
